Esteemed colleagues, this is a formal announcement that one year from today (April 1st, 2027), the Rancor Pit will officially transition to being solely devoted to Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game (First Edition).
Over the course of the next year, all Second Edition material, and house rules/stats based on 2e/R&E, will be permanently removed from this website. This gives everyone time to go through all their posts and convert everything to 1e. However, we will establish premium Rancor Pit memberships with a low annual fee of $999.99, and premium members will be permitted to include 2e-based material as long as it is labeled "Bloated Version" and accompanied by 1e conversions.
Furthermore, as of April 1st, 2027, the Rancor Pit will not tolerate any references to any Disney continuity or any EU continuity from beyond the day before Blue Vader was released in 1992. All continuity allowed here will be defined as the "Rancor First Canon". For example, the novels Heir to the Empire and Dark Force Rising will be included, but the published version of The Last Command novel (1993) will be ignored. As a side note, this will allow me to fulfill my lifelong dream of rewriting The Last Command as a story where a red-haired, green-eyed almagamation of Luke, Han, Leia, and Anakin does not dramatically usurp our classic trinity in a bait-and-switch climax!
To celebrate the launch of the updated website next April, I will also begin publishing a new series of 1e adventure modules entitled, The Adventures of Fluffy's SpecOps Team!
We know change is hard, but this update will simplify your lives and you'll love it.
Thank you. _________________ *

Some may call it April Fools, but I call it wishful thinking! _________________ "The internet is a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be unnatural." - Sheev Zuckerberg |
