I've honestly never heard the age complaint before. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

What I have commonly encountered in general are disgruntled Star Trek fans manufacturing complaints of things that do not even exist in the new films, along with their opinions about things that do. If you feel that Starfleet wouldn't have even made the mistake of giving a 25-year-old Jim Kirk command of the Enterprise in the first place (instead of granting it then only later realizing their mistake), that is an opinion and you are entitled to that. But if you say that the new film changed the character ages to put them all in the Academy at the same time (when they really only changed 1 character's age and shifted 1 other's Academy time, with only 3 characters even shown in the academy), then you are misremembering the film. What I've also found in general (not just regarding Trek) is that people often feel the need to justify their dislike of something when they really don't have to. There doesn't have to be a debate of merits and flaws. If you don't like something, you don't like it and you don't have to offer any justifications. _________________ *
