Hey, If Gry is going to do the BIG EDIT, then should we start a thread to list typos, errors and other bits that need correcting? Might as well get it all done at once.
I wonder if it would be easier to do the books in sections/chapters rather than as once book? That might make it easier to tack on new stuff later on. Even if the SAGA RPG line closes down, there might still be new ships and stuff from the TV series (and elsewhere) that we might want to make stats for. |

I took your idea and created a thread under Tools.
As for breaking up the books into chapters... Well, they already have chapters in them. of course we'll always have new items being created for the Star Wars universe that we will want stats for. However I don't think we'll have any official stats for quite a while. It is simply the nature of books that they can't be constantly updated, even if they are broken up into chapters and stuff. It's just not feasible. These 2010 editions of the Stats books will have to hold up for a few years, until a sufficient amount of new official material has accumulated to warrant a new edition. In the meantime we'll keep on producing new stats for the new items, and maybe editing them into supplements or something. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

Cool, now I have to see if I can remember the ones I ran across.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I was thinking that doing up and releasing the PDFs in chapters might be easier than doing them all in one PDF. That wayif you have to edit, say, the 1st Degree Droids section, it won't affect the other chapters.
But you're the one (or at least one of the ones) who is doing it, so whatever works best for you.
(one of the ones?!? yuck. ) |

Hrm... Someone loves the system and has the money to buy the company. They figure their love for the game can bring it back. Where have I heard that before? Yeaah... I see no place where these carefully laid plans can possibly go wrong. _________________ __________________________________

Well, I received my copy of Unknown Regions, and since I had been able to go back and acquire the books I had missed, I now have pretty much the entire line of Saga Edition.
My goal now is to get into a Saga Edition game at the cons this summer so I can say I've actually played this game I own every book for once, and so my criticisms of it carry a little more clout as I will have at least tried it. 8) _________________ *

I guess no one said you have to try it with an open mind. _________________ __________________________________

I wonder when Wizards will officially close doors on their SW license. Unknown Regions has already been released, but their website is still regularly posting stuff, like the METOSP. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

I'll try my best. But I figure, trying it at all is at least a little more open than slamming it without even ever trying it. And I played in a few D&D 3.0/3.5 campaigns a few years ago, so it's not like I'm a complete d20 noob anyway. _________________ *

Throw on top of it - the people that put out stuff at this site are simply incredible. True lovers of the d6 star wars and would be the group of people that take it places. |

I mean, Saga is fine system. Particularly useful if you want a more high-powered, combat orientated game. Pretty much any character concept translates pretty readily from D6 to Saga. Since you've played 3.5 you won't be a complete fish out of water.
At the end of the day though, Star Wars just feels right with D6. |

I've just received word that Wizards of the Coast has dissolved its Star Wars website permanently. The last remnants of the d20 system have been swept away.
All joking aside, this is it. Website is gone, Wizards Star Wars is no more.

Did anyone happen to save all the free RPG adventures and other material posted on the WotC Star Wars website before it was taken down? I started to go through the archive a few weeks ago, but only obtained a portion of it. |

who cares if they shut down their blasphemous game anyway? our game of choice hasnt been produced in how many years? we will do what we always do, make up stats for stuff, make up adventures, and play our game.
until they quit making 6 sided die, paper, and pencils ill be good, ok? _________________ D&D 5e DM and WEG Star Wars GM for two kids who will hopefully carry on with RPGs for years to come

I wouldn't go that far. They had a really good series of articles on Star Wars and mythmaking that I fully intended to download before it got shut down. I kinda also wanted to grab their errata, since I own a number of the books.
I'm kind of curious if someone is going to make an announcement tomorrow that they've purchased the line. I'm highly doubting it because I think Star Wars is going to lie fallow for a little while... but there's still that small possibility. _________________ __________________________________
