				| I've converted what they've released as previews, but I'm waiting for the final product to pop around to dive into the whole thing. _________________

				| I'm holding the finished product right now. I haven't done more than flip through it a bit, but it looks cool.
I am slightly disappointed that they've only made stats for one new freighter for the era, and it's a heavily armored and well armed freighter. Also very expensive.

				| Well, did they create original material or only use what's in the game/comics? Cause as far as the game goes, there was only the Ebon Hawk as a freighter...
BTW, good stats. I don't have the Saga version to compare the conversion, but looks good. Just two things: try and add up the gunners and include them in the Crew line. And using weapon batteries is not really the WEG way. I usually consider 1 battery around 3-5 weapons and go from there...

				| I'm not familiar with the comics, but the way that it's looking, they may have generated some all new material just to give the players some options for the era. | |

				| Going by the Tales of the Jedi Companion, wouldn't a x12 Main drive, with a x19 backup be more apt for the period (the Vaya's x8 drive is the best in that book. Even though WOTC put out those drive numbers, I myself find that a bit too advanced for the time.
 I admit I'm a purist!

				| Yeah well, you're basically right. But: 1- These are based on WOTC official stats, and if they give it a x2 rating, then, well, that's the official info.
2 - There's quite a difference in technological level between TotJ and KotOR. Even though they are only a few decades apart, the galaxy seems to have made a huge leap forward technologically. While TotJ seems genuinely ancient, KotOR is much closer to what we saw in the films...

				| Yeah, there are a few stats that I fudged, but the hyperdrive isn't one of them. Our basic assumptions from what we've seen is that the hyperdrive technology had their own Copernican Revolution, but the sensors had very little improvement. Until we can get some sort of official information otherwise, we're kind of going with that. | |

Join the club of the disillusioned, schnarre. I'm conversing with another fellow this very instant about this trend in the Star Wars material. Its the "Let's make everything more powerful than the basic Star Wars materials" syndrome.

It's one of the problems I have with direct converting of WOTC stuff. WOTC is going the way of Rifts...making everything bigger, badder, nastier than the stuff before it. Older stuff loses flavor because they don't want to make it seem weaker than the previous stuff they've published. So they pump up the stats and then it doesn't mesh with what was already published.

Best thing to do is wait until people convert it from the WOTC stats that are just outlandish, and then trim, cut, mold and shape the thing to match with other things already published so that each era in Star Wars can have its unique flavor.

				| Though it's not technically in the book, I converted it from a minis/RPG supplement they did when promoting the minis game. (And, really the mini for the thing looks pretty cool... but I digress.)

Once infected, the character must make two Difficult Strength rolls every day. If the character fails three of the rolls, then the target is transformed into a Rakghoul. The disease may be treated with a Heroic medicine roll, or by means of a Rakghoul syrum.

I finished the book tonight. They've got some pretty decent fluff in there for a d20 book. It's not like a WEG book, but it's a lot better than the rest of them thus far.

Anyhoo... there is an in-universe explanation as to why the hyperdrive is the way that it is. During and after the Madalorian wars, the republic saw to their reconstruction efforts by improving one of their most vulnerable areas, their hyperspace lanes. During that time they started moving away from nav beacons to on-board navigation computers. Likewise, they began investing in research for faster hyperdrives.

Anyway, it shows that they're at least conscious of the fact that they're introducing a technological leap, and giving some service to it. I'm not saying that I love the WotC stats for everything, or that I'm absolutely in love with what they've done. But it at least gives us a base at which to start. I plan on converting things over as close as I can while keeping things within reason. It will at least give GMs a baseline to say "That's a little high, I'm going to back that down," or "I think that would fit if we tweaked that up a bit," without having to invent all-new stats for their games.

 Anyway, just my thoughts.

				| I just got a hold of the book and skimmed through it. Look very nice, and wow, there's a huge amount of stats we can convert, lots of starships, vehicles and droids and other fun stuff.
I'll post the ones I had already done from the previews and then I'll try to go ahead converting and posting. Probably starting at alien species... Then when it's all done we can put my conversions with Cheshire's and whoever elses into a nice little PDF.
