I already know about those charts for damage repair. What I was actually implying is, when a ship is lightly, heavily, or severely damaged, doesn't that have to be repaired along with the system that is damaged. _________________ "I've got a bad feeling about this!"

Yes. Hull repairs would be the 'overall damage' and then which ever system was called out by the D6 roll from the damage chart. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

They do not state anywhere how much it costs to repair your ships hull in that instance. _________________ "I've got a bad feeling about this!"

Hmm... That is an interesting ommission... Hows about this then..
Repairing the hull of a ship that took damage.
Light damage, is repaired at a moderate roll, and 5% of the total cost of the ship +1% for each additional light damage it took.
Heavy damage is repaired at a difficult roll and at 15% of the ships cost.
Severe damage is repaired at a very difficult roll and at 25% of the ships cost.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

hmm, the +1% can get sticky. if you get 12 light damages (un likely, but it could happen) it would cost more then heavy damage... i see how that can happen, but is that something that you want to include in this.
perhaps every time a ship gets light damage it gets 1% repair costs, cumulative. 15% for every heavy damage, and 25% for every severe.....
kind of a tally of running damage.
or just make it easier on the book keeping and go with 5/15/25 _________________ The Vong have Arrived

I don't see the problem with the 1% stuff. The minor stuff in car accidents really adds up. If you just repaired every bit of minor damage (and i'm not even talking cosmetics here, that adds up too), it could easily cost more than just replacing a larger part of the car. I realize that we're not talking about cars here, but I think that it's something to think about at least. _________________ Arek | Kage |

The minor stuff can really add up if there's a lot of it (and parts can be expensive and hard to find for a particular make and model too. On older stuff you have to start fabricating new parts yourself (I've seen this happen in the real world) which can also be a difficult and expensive undertaking as well (Depending on what it is)..... _________________ Not the droid you're looking for....... |

Doesn't 5%, 15%, and 25%, seem too high? I mean the character will also have to pay a % for the item that gets damaged as well. I like the 1% cumulative idea though. _________________ "I've got a bad feeling about this!"
