I run a guy who is a sniper and he never rarely shoots at a moving target or dodging one either, but I think because he has a skill Sniper it allows him to take better shots. Not sure if dodging would help the target. |

Yeah that's true, I didn't think about that since I never shoot at moving targets. When hunting I only take shots when they're standing still or moving very slowly (usually I get them to stop in my sights by making a "meh" noise) in order to ensure a clean kill. |
Uhm sorry off topic and all, but I think you need to come hunt in Africa You make a noise and there is NO wild life within miles.
But I have seen people hunt here lying in ambush and then other people herd the prey past them on open fields using vehicles and horses. I prefer a more one-on-one approach, but when you make a noise and the naimal starts running then it is almost impossible to shoot it if it is not running in a nice straight line. _________________ ***witty remark under construction - coming soon to a board near you*** |

We're lucky to have simple-minded animals here in the US, then. I make my noise and the deer stops with a "Shwa?" look on its face. It is of course looking around and listening intently for another sound, ready to bolt. Not that it will hear anything until after the fact. _________________ Arek | Kage |

Our Roos will bolt at the slightest noise. As a matter of fact so will the wild pigs. The wild boars will bolt too, but straight at the noise. Don't shoot a boar with a 22. Found that out the hard way _________________ "I take orders from just one person: Me!"

Dude.... you generally don't even shoot PEOPLE with a .22 - something that small will just irritate them...

Over here we call that a "friendly shot". You know, just meant to tease, not to harm. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

We have pretty strict gun laws, And I was 12 at the time. Also a well placed shot with a 22 will bring down a big Red, you just have to hit them in the eye. _________________ "I take orders from just one person: Me!"

Don't underestimate the .22 cal. They've killed many a person and have been used in several wars in the past century. |

I won't dispute that they've killed a great many people...but in which wars did this cartridge see widespread use? I'm assuming we're all talking about .22LR here. _________________ Arek | Kage |

Easier to do at night strangely enough, Shine the Spot light on 'em, and aim for one of the shiney things, or between the shiney things for the smaller roos. _________________ "I take orders from just one person: Me!"
