Played yesterday, used my updated encounters in space spreadsheet. Game went well. "Slaver's Chains" is complete and the Rebellion has a new CR-90 on Entooine.

As with tradition, we ran a game last Saturday which is when we typically play, the third Saturday of the month. The game went extremely well. The new player decided to take some initiative and capture a native droid from the planet Quockra-4 in the Minos cluster. Naturally she got the party into trouble. The party got her out of trouble. I was most pleased to see the new player taking such initiative. She enjoyed herself and so did the party. I think she’s going to work out after all. Back to work. I am presently reading the Han Solo Adventures again, looking for some good ideas. Brian Charles Daley never disappoints.

Every Sunday is Star Wars D6 at my place. I am the GM. My group was doing DnD but then a break up happened in the group, so there was a desire to change the setting.

My girlfriend told the group "Here is how we pitch it to Dare, say we want to play Star Wars" And I instantly switched. Playing 11 ABY, most legends inspired, and a campaign setting I always idly work on throughout the years.

Lots of the people in my group were even new to Dnd, but when we switched over they really seem to love the system. It seemed a little overwhelming to them at first, but once they started playing they realized the basics are very simple. Roll D6s, add them up. They also really like that you can tailor your character to really any of your desire. That there aren't levels and you have a lot of agency over what your character can do or is good at.

We have

An Ewok, that is Force Sensitive and a Scout/Doctor
A Duros Ace Pilot and Captain of their ship.
A Zeltron, that is force sensitive, the face of the group, and has connections to the New Republic
An Echani, that is also force sensitive, was homeless, and just snuck onto their ship and so they took him in.
Then Finally a Jawa, that haha is also force sensitive, and the go to Tech guru.

In the realm of
"Don't put it on the map, if you don't want the players to go there..."

Yeah - me the GM, for several sessions;
"all clues lead to this location"

Players - "hey, what is over there - lets go check that out..."

GM: Sigh.... figures out a way to believable move information and NPCs to new location....

Players gonna do, what players gonna do...

(at least we had a lot of fun roleplaying some unexpected encounters and they eventually got the information they needed.....but yeah).

My campaign will wrap up this Saturday. We're taking a break for the summer and not sure if we'll pick it up afterwards. I know I'm losing another player so if we do continue, we're down to 3 players.

Congrats on wrapping up - hopefully it was a fun and satisfying run.

Bummer about the players - it seems like groups ebb from too many wanting to play or too few.

Best of luck starting up again.

I'm currently running one, but scheduling is hard. We're doing it once a month, and even then we've had to skip April entirely, and we're not able to get everyone together again until the last weekend of May.

Sounds like my campaign. The only reason we're stopping is player attrition. We could only do monthly and we missed a third over the last year.

Thanks pakman. This has been a failed campaign for the third time. All were scheduling related failures.

Scheduling is rough.

I have run two games in the past year or so. One imploded for about 10 months because two out of the four players have kids and they're getting to that age where the parents are crazy busy with them. One of the two is back now and the other has committed to playing out the endgame of his character's arc, though.

The other one was pretty consistent: we had a group of about 8 players, and I set a requirement for needing at least 3 to play, so we often play with 3-5. Even then, it was usually once a month, and occasionally twice.

I just got diagnosed a few weeks ago with major depressive disorder and I've been dealing with that, which has derailed both, but we're hoping to restart once I'm in a better place.

Ran a game last night. It went well. New player participated well. My group is up to speed and has several capers planned.

I ran "Rebel Breakout" out of the original rule book a month ago. I am playing tomorrow.

I feel like running a campaign again, but I don't really have any good ideas yet, other than setting it during the Empire and only using sources and material from before 1999.

That is a start.

I run some kind of serial / episodic campaign. I simply juxtapose the adventures I think that "make better rhythm" and let the story flow through adventures. So it's not something perfectly planned like, for example "Darkstryder Campaign" (a "nemesis" for the players or along term objective, alt least at the begining), but playing the adventures, the players make friends and enemies, and I come across some ideas that I put here and there... And you begin then to have some kind of unity in the adventures.

Now, they have a main villain that is searching for them. And that is a big point to build a "true" campaign.

I hope that, at the end, I will be able to give my players a enjoyable "resolution" of the "campaign" (maybe in 3 or 4 adventures from now?)

I'm not a such experienced GM as other great people here (they surely can give you better tips), but that is what I think I learned running 7 adventures

What I was trying to say is: don't worry. Take a look to the adventures and material, pick up the ones you think p your players and you would enjoy more.... And live the adventure!

(Sorry if my English is not enough fluent)

Good luck finding inspiration!
