My mom has been cutting my hair literally as long as I can remember, and she does a really good job. And since I live literally across the street from her, my haircutting situation hasn't changed in the slightest. Of course, it's going to be a hard day some time in the future when circumstances force me to get my hair cut somewhere else. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Across the street from your mom? That's convenient. My mom and step-dad live in the next county, about a 35 minute drive. I've only seen them once since the pandemic started. We delivered masks and a meal to them last month.

My folks live across the city. We head over twice a week, so Grammy can play teacher some more. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

My church's longtime music director, who just retired from the position last year, died from Covid recently. He was 70. My wife is friends with his son and daughter-in-law. He was a wonderful man.
I have a coworker on my team who lost her sister to covid a couple weeks ago. My manager's son got it but he is a 30 year-old physical trainer and he recovered.
Do you now anyone who's gotten it? Did they recover? _________________ *

A friend's 18 y/o son caught it and recovered. That's the closest I've heard in my circle. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

So far, no one close to me has caught it.. Know two folk (neighbors) who've now had someone catch it. BOTH were hospital workers... _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

No one that I am personally aware of (as in "I know them") has contracted the Coronavirus. I have one friend who says that he thinks his girlfriend got it way back in December of last year because of how nasty sick she got after they traveled aboard. It was before word of anything got out, and she never got tested because there was never any thought that it was more than just a very nasty cold.
He said she was having trouble breathing and had a wicked cough, and took nearly a month to get over it. But she did.
Now, whether that was the early form of Coronavirus or not, we'll never know. But that is the only anecdotal evidence of anyone that I know of ever getting anything like it. |

My wife's boss had it pretty bad. Took her almost a month to shake it. _________________ Currently playing D&D 5E and painting an unholy amount of miniatures. |

That may not be true. The American Red Cross does covid antibody testing on all donations, because one possible therapy for people fighting covid in a hospital is to give them a compatible transfusion from survivors of covid, to get more covid antibodies into their body. They notified me that my blood tested negative for covid antibodies, so I haven't had covid. They also notified me the day that my platelets were used in a hospital for a patient (someone fighting cancer, I believe).
So your friend's girlfriend may not qualify to donate for one of the 100+ reasons that disqualify people, but you may want to mention it as a possible way to find out if she has had covid. And she also could be helping out someone who fighting for their life. _________________ *

Yeah, the pandemic is real in the Boston area. We've got five congregations that use our church building. If you just take the clergy and their families alone, half of them have had COVID. Most was very early in the pandemic. One of them has survived, but not really recovered. We don't know if he's ever going to be quite the same. Another one of the clergy was in the ICU for over a month. We were wondering if we were going to lose him. He got out of the ICU about six weeks ago and he's still recovering at home.
So, yeah, I can go through a list of a dozen people that I know have or have had it.
Turns out my zipcode is the hotspot in my city. So... hooray. _________________ __________________________________

I don't know anyone who has had it, but I live in a small town in Kansas, so there's that. _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

Thanks, much appreciated. We're pretty darn careful in my family. We go for walks, but always give people more than enough space. We don't shop if it isn't necessary. We've seen a friend on a rare occasion, but we'll meet outdoors and set tables up more than six feet apart and mask up.
We've opened our church again, but we've limited seating, and people are pretty far spread out. We're doing a hybrid online/in-person thing, so we've only seen 10 people at a time. We had one of our parishoners say, "Wow, you guys are pretty strict with the regulations," and I'm thinking, "Dude, Pastor Delva almost died. But after I explained the scope of how many people had gotten COVID from our building (and they didn't even contract it at the building), they understood. _________________ __________________________________
