For those who've done that sort of style.. Do ships get destroyed less often or more often than in 'normal' play? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

My very first gaming group for SWd6 (1E) was back in the late 80's / early 90's. We transitioned over from playing Palladium's Robotech system (which was based around everybody having their own Mech / Veritech) to 1E, but in many ways kept the same mindset. Out of a group of seven or eight players, we had very nearly that many starships, a mix of starfighters (none of the same type) and light freighters.
It was a clusterf@#k. Getting from one planet to another was an adventure in and of itself, never mind coordinating everything once we got there. The sheer number of individual Astrogation rolls alone could throw everything off course if only one person failed their roll. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. That's often one thing i've seen bite players in the butt, when someone buggers up THEIR astrogation roll, while the other's were ok. Because often they fail to remember, that EACH ship entering hyperspace still needs to Roll the skill to input the data into the Nav comp. Even if someone else created it.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

You could always slave the other navicomps to one leader (aka the player with the highest astrogation) or just skip the astrogation rolls unless you're trying to send them someplace interesting (Otherspace). OR, and this is probably the whiskey talking, just ask the players to consolidate vessels for simplicity. _________________ Aha! |
