Besides protein sticks and tang mix, there would have to be at least 5 gallons of drinking water, toilet paper (or whatever is used in SW), a shaving kit (noone ever seems to grow even a 5 o'clock shadow in hyperspace), oral hygiene kits, feminine hygiene kits, etc, etc... not to mention equipment to protect against vacuum (the "elements") in the event of a mishap or breakdown or whatever.
We lump it all under consumables, but there are plenty of things needed for a days-long journey. |

There is also the possibility that "plumbing" connections are incorporated into flight suits to make disposal of bodily wastes simpler in a cockpit. The Honor Harrington series, for example, makes mention of this when ship's crew is donning their shipboard vacuum suits before combat. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. What's used in the SW universe? Definitely not toilet paper!
OK, it's gross, but...
They use flea sized insectoids from Karsus IV that eat up human solid waste until they bloat and burst.
A starfighter's cockpit is equipped with a flip-out bowl fitting that is inverted through a flap in the flight suit. The pilot sits on the bowl, which is made of memory-plastic that automatically shapes itself to the contours of the pilot's body. Once the pilot has used the device, it is removed and replaced in its compartment where the entire device (form-fitting bowl, tube, and catch bag) are vacuum sucked to the fighter's waste reclamation unit.
But, before the device is removed, these insectoids, called Karnips, are released from the lip of the memory-plastic bowl. The Karnips do their job, eating up any left over feces or other waste matter. The Karnips eat until they bloat and the bloating kills them. Then, the Karnips fall to their death, explode (which isn't messy due the karnip's intestinal track), and then disintegrate in the atmosphere (not unlike dried mucus).
The pilots are left quite clean and fresh.

Actually, it's no problem with Karnippians, which are genetically altered Karnips! |

I take it these karnippians/karnips are a made up thing for your games? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Alright, I'm making peace with the speed of smaller craft in the RAW. You all make good points, and the fuel capacity as represented in the consumables certainly limits the range of these ships so as to make a fair trade-off for their size and speed. Not to mention the necessity of decent hyperdrive multipliers for probes and courier hyper-droids, which incidentally, play a large role in several of my game scenarios. |

Karnippians and Karnis are things I made up for the post above in jest, making them up the moment before I typed them.
As for my game--I've never really thought about these issues, to be fair. |

Is this a reference to the Sylvester Stallone Demolition Man movie?
Because that's the only Three Sea Shell reference I know of. _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

Just repurchased the X-Wing and Tie Fighter flight sim games. I forgot how much I missed them. |

If it's not, then I'd wager the Demolition Man reference is a reference to something else. _________________ "I've Seen Your Daily Routine. You Are Not Busy!"

I figured. BUT you know what. This is SW, with all sorts of strange alien tech out there, so who knows. Maybe something like that does exist.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

TOTALLY is.
Really, it's a perfect lampshade of the idea that bathroom issues in sci-fi do NOT need to be explained.
