I usually assume 1 credit equals $1 circa 1977 (when Star Wars came out), and I use prices from that time to figure out the cost of things.

The minimum wage would be about 2.3 credits and hour, or about 92 credits for a 40 hour work week. So a low paying job is probably good for about 100 credits a week.
