*waves hello, somewhat shyly*
Hi, I'm Gadora, mostly from over in the GitP forums. I'm starting in a game over IRC on Monday, and thought popping in here might be wise. Also, I'm kind of hoping to convert my local gaming group away from d20r, next time we do a Star Wars game. |

Welcome, and good luck with the conversion process. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

Welcome
There is a TON of great ideas here so don't be shy. Ask questions, throw out ideas of you own, and have some fun!
Good luck with getting them out of d20! _________________ "And so I am become a knight of the Kingdom of Dreams and Shadows!" - Mark Twain

Hello! Nice to have found a place where D6 is still discussed!
I've spent years collecting the WEG books (I have a nearly complete collection,) as much for the stories and good writing which was done for most of the product line as anything else, and playing the game on and off with friends. The longest campaign I've been involved with lasted just shy of two and a half years (and we keep throwing out the idea of starting it back up, but people have these pesky schedules..)
I tend to prefer heroic style gaming with series-spanning metaplots, but consider playing smugglers and privateers (we were working for the Rebel Alliance, with letters of marque) games to be fun as well. (I've never been able to get into the whole "playing evil" thing though..)
I tend to enjoy playing characters holding what are ordinarily considered support roles (I'm very fond of playing techs) who find themselves in unusual circumstances and situations which they're forced to adapt to. I've only once ever played a Force Sensitive character, a member of a diminutive (about two feet tall) alien species from an outer rim world who'd trained as a Jedi (padawan) and survived the Purge. (A lot of the fun there was exploring the advantages and disadvantages of playing a very small character living in an environment generally built around much larger people, while at the same time striving NOT to become comic relief..) |

Like Tinman said, it's nice to see an area where D6 and WEG is still talked about. I run with a small local group that plays the occasional Star Wars D6 game along with Spycraft. More frequently, I write for several characters at rebelfaction.org under the same screen name.
I have a lot of interest with the lore aspect of Star Wars, but it's also interesting to see all of the mechanics and other ideas people have been coming up with. I'm looking forward to joining the discussions on the forum. |

Hellow this is Griff. I found the first addition core rule book and first source book back in 1989, introduced it to my friends and played a lot. The biggest problem we had was the GM that usually ran all our game (not just SW) would eventually try to kill us off.. was one of those GM. Not wanting to have SW turn into players vs. GM I decided to do the gamemastering, did not do much playing as a character. When the system was changed to D20, we tried it out and didn't make it out of character creation when we were in it for over an hour. It is great to see that the D6 is still alive and well. And please some one tell me to save my money on this Edge of the Empire bs.
