Though that's not my particularly vision of Star Wars, I think that's kind of what he's aiming for, isn't it? I mean, the EU has already taken us into pyrokinetics. _________________ __________________________________

It's listed several places on Wookieepedia, though nothing I'd ever read. Pyrokenesis has its own entry, strangely enough. I wouldn't have figured, but I checked out of curiosity. _________________ __________________________________

It's a logical extrapolation, really. FS characters have the ability to manipulate objects by touch (TK) and perceive what is normally not perceivable (Farseeing). Combine the two, and the FS has the ability to perceive individual atoms or molecules and excite them, increasing heat and (eventually) causing combustion. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It may be a logical extrapolation, but i have read most of the SW novels up and through the legacy of the force series where Jacen goes all sith. I can't remember any pk instances popping up (even though WP mentions 2 novels that it happened in supposedly).. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

In Children of the Jedi Jaina or possibly Jacen excited molecules to light up a dark room. Don't remember it in Darth Plagueis novel which is also listed. |

I distinctly remember thinking that this was really odd. But again, it's come to that point in the novels, even though I don't think it's my personal favorite flavor of Star Wars. _________________ __________________________________

Ive always figured that the Force was the Star Wars version of "magic." Any mystical abilities are in one way or another some type of manipulation of the Force. The Dathomir, for example use theForce but their powers are not based on control/sense/alter. Their powers are simply skills unto themselves. |

True, but some of us would like to see some rules for powers that don't tie into the force.. that way you can have those who are non force sensitive who actually can have them. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

SCIENCE!
Cybernetics and technology is a great way to have things that look like magic.
I created a cyborg NPC (available here: http://www.rancorpit.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4413) that shot lightning from her fingertips. My players are still convinced that she is a Darkside Force user.
I think it goes against the Star Wars genre to create another mystical source of power outside of the Force. _________________ "I still wouldn't have a roll for it - but that's just how I roll." |

I tend to agree here, unless we are talking about a species specific ability which has a biological or chemical or source, etc...
I once had a character that was a "mutant" of sorts, who had conscious control over his adrealine glands. He could expend a character point in order to make all of his dice for one physical roll have the ability to explode on a six. If the wild die came up as a one on that roll, then he still lost the CP, but no dice exploded. |

While yes, certain tech can imitate psionics or other powers, what happens to said 'cyborg' if he gets hit by an Ion cannon or EMP.. Gone is his "Super power" _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

That's a really cool power and creative use of the Wild Die mechanic. Well done! 8) _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Thanks, unfortumeately the campaign didnt go very far, and he was otherwise a rather one-dimentional character. But the idea was kinda cool. |
