I believed Luke is actually built off of the Brash Pilot or Rookie Pilot template. He has the full 18D before taking Force skills into account, just like every other NPC/Movie Jedi.

Luke circa Episode 4 is shown in the various Star Wars Sourcebooks (I've got a couple of different ones, if anyone wants to know any specifics).

I always wondered because it is only like 5 years between Yavin and Endor and luke goes from padawan to uberjedi according to the movies. I bet there were plenty of prequel padawans that would have handed Luke his butt on a platter, besides, you guys know that there was know way that Yoda gave luke anything like a full jedi knowledge and skill set in only a couple of weeks.

Or is this a case of moving at the speed of Plot and the "George said so" stamp of knighthood.

I highly doubt that the Movies and the Lore are subjected to the D6 Rules. Rules never really reflect the lore. Never have in any P&P I have seen so far...

I think the real point is simply that even WEG ddidnt gimp the Jedi that they statted out, but a lot of GMs tend to gimp Jedi on purpose. My best guess is that they either don't want to unbalance their game or that they believe charracters like Luke (or just movie characters in general) should be the only ones to see double digits on skill dice. Personally, I think Luke is a pitiful character and every Jedi I've played should be able to stomp his butt on principle alone... Razz

I have heard several people feel that luke is a whyiny brat and that alone should enable any pc to wipe the floor with him.
