I was never a fan of the Force Push against other people in the prequels and EU. To me, the telekinesis power makes sense when used against an inanimate object, but less sense against a living being. Vader's use of telekinetic kill (and Luke's use against the Gamorrean guards) was one thing - but that required some serious skill to make a SMALL force action against another person. Force push just seems like it's too much to me.
Also, the use of telekinesis to levitate yourself - just seems silly. Force jump is a different deal - it's using the force to enhance your muscle action, not to become Superman.
But, that just my opinion. I prefer the way force powers were handled in the original trilogy. |
