As previously discussed, the Jedi Master felt compelled to train the Force adapt so that he could confront and destroy/redeem his Sith Lord Father. The Jedi Master felt that the blood ties between the Father and Son were such that the Son's destiny in the Force was to confront his father and that he would need to utilize the Force to do this. Because the young man came to him, the Master expected this to be the will of the Force and trained the young man in spite of his recklessness. Since then the Master has realized that this training was in error and will offer no further training unless the young man lets go of his hate. The Jedi Knight who offered him meditation training did so mostly as he saw that the Jedi was falling into the spell of corruption and that his duty was to assist the Jedi in training from going to the dark side.

That's a pretty ballsy move on the part of the Jedi Master. Since the rules dictate that teaching someone force powers or training them if they have a dark side point results in the teacher getting a dark side point as well.

A character should be wary of teaching anyone with Dark Side Points Jedi abilities — any time a character teaches such a person a Force skill or power, the teacher receives a Dark Side Point. |

Exactly, each time the student upped in his force skills or learned a new power, the master would gain a DSP..... _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

He received all 3 dark side points a week or 2 after his initial training in the force. He had no dark side points when his Master first trained him in the force. Thus his Master was unaware of the level of evil the character was willing to do.

Would this apply to a Master who taught a student that had no dark side points at the time he was initially trained? |

No, if the student had no dark side points when he was trained, then the master receives nothing. However, it does say in the next paragraph that a teacher is ultimately responsible for the actions of his student. But, not specifically that they receive a dark side point. _________________ RR

Great! So no matter what, if the PC reaches 6 or 7 Dark Side Points the Jedi Master will consider it his responsibility to bring the PC back to the light side of the Force through redemptive measures or cinematically strike down and destroy the PC who is hell-bent on his path of reckless evil.

Though you did say the Initial training started before the PC got any DSPs.. DID the master keep training him after? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

No, the Jedi Master has not trained him since and another Jedi Master who encountered him refused to train him outright and has made the statement that he refuses to train the Jedi in training PC until he lets go of all his hate and is able to slip into Emptiness. Knowing outright that the student wouldn't do it the Master went about his business.
