Like the droid starfighters of the Trade Federation/CIS? I did see it the prequels. Are you referring to the works of Isaac Asimov or Star Wars?

THis was the ship I was thinking of using as a Kuat prototype with a highly advanced droid brain in control (as well as very fast). The only thing I dont like is the weapons. I had an unarmed ship in mind.
The ship looks cool. You could erase the guns from the dorsal turret with a program like Photoshop.

Alternately you could make the turret more defensive mounting twin light ion cannons (3D) or antistarfighter light blaster cannons (2D-3D). Blaster cannons are short range, hence even less effective. If you were playing old style Traveller they could be sandcasters. Wink I suppose you could allow them to fire some sort of chaff for EM and anti-missile defense.

Im probably going for Ion cannons. Made to cover the (very fast) retreat if the ship gets into trouble...

There is a YT-1300 in "Tales of the Empire" that had a droid personality running through the ship's systems. I believe it was named Kiarra and definately had a female flirty personality. So there is an EU example for you to base this on. I don't thing the personality could fly the ship, but it had access to the sensors and could do an engine start up.

Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if the Empire / Republic had laws outlawing combat capable droids (assassin droids are illegal, after all), but its not like the average Rebel or Smuggler is following the law all that closely in the first place.

What degree of control will the droid have over the ship?

I was thinking something with basic Mechanical skills (piloting, astrogation, etc.) but not at high enough levels to completely replace normal crew. I haven't really decided on weapons control, but I do think the ship should at least be able to bring the shields up.

I've also toyed with the idea of having a Shard be installed in a ship, of course unbeknownst to the PCs. Twisted Evil

That is a good idea!

Depends on the door and the AI. Recognize this quote? "It is my pleasure to open for you, and my satisfaction to close again with the knowledge of a job well done."

That's a beautiful ship. Were there any others showing other profiles for more detail?

That's the Kierra, owned by Thaddeus Ross.

Ahem yes, a character like that can be a lot of fun, it works best in an online game where you can have the shard be another PC and they then PM their actions to the GM without the other players seeing Smile

Your players wouldn't buy a "giant binoculars" ball turret???

Laughing That's a form of torture to the occupants, though.
