The only thing classic about those books was how crap they were. |

The Jedi Academy series in particular, I assume. Not the entirety of the EU, one hopes. _________________ Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. |

Yes, the JA books.
There's some EU books I quite like and others I absolutely abhor. The EU is extremely hit or miss with me. |

So what would win in an all out space battle? A Death Star the SC or one of these monster Star Destroyers? _________________ Rebel Uprisings

Depends on where the battle takes place. I imagine a super nova event could seriously damage either a fully-operational Death Star or an Imperium, but it wouldn't damage the Sun Crusher. So if the DS and Imperium get caught in a blast wave that could be bad for them.
Conversely, out in interstellar space with nothing to blow up, the Sun Crusher would find itself with no effective weapons. A DS would be unlikely to be able to land a solid shot with its superlaser, but the Imperium's spinal-mount cannon actually has a decent chance based simply on the massive width of the beam. I'm afraid a traditional Death Star has no chance whatsoever against an Imperium. It would be like sending H.M.S. Dreadnought into battle against I.J.N. Yamato. Dreadnought was a bad-@$$ in her day, but her day had been over for roughly thirty years by the time Yamato hit the oceans. |

Couldn't the Sun Crusher just drive through the Death Star or Imperium like it did to Daala's Star Destroyer? That might leave a mark... _________________ Aha! |

My money would be on the Sun Crusher. Mainly because of it's speed and ramming power if it was in open space. Although at the same time if we consider that the Imperium has more than just it's main weapons to fight with. It can house legions of normal Star Destroyers, tens of thousands of TIEs and god knows what else and just overcome the others with sheer swarm. _________________ Rebel Uprisings

You're going to ram shields meant to deflect superlaser fire? Good frelling luck! |

If the quantum armor can survive a supernova, it could probably stand a decent chance of punching through some Death Star scale shields. _________________ Aha! |

I don't think you're understanding... A piece of hay can punch through an oak tree trunk. But it takes the winds of a category 5 tornado to do it.
The Sun Crusher's armor can punch through anything this side of solid neutronium, but its engines aren't powerful enough, in my opinion, to poke a hole in Death Star scale shields. |

Heh... actually, as far as the hurricane goes, the piece of hay was put in when the tree bent enough to open a small hole, allowing the hay to be inserted. Then, when the tree recovered, the hay stayed and the hole disappeared. Accuracy for accuracy's sake...
and I'm agreeing w/ Pel. Anything that could survive both supernova AND gas giant gravity HAS to be capable of surviving superlaser fire... _________________ "Love like you will die tomorrow. Hate like you will live forever." - Unknown |

Gas giant gravity is a sad joke compared to superlaser fire. Don't be ridiculous. As for a supernova, a wave front is significantly less intense than a concentrated beam. |

That thing is impossible.. how can it possibly move.. need impossible amount of fuel and could'nt jump in hyperspace without hitting planets all over the place. |
