Still say this thing is 280km long.
Sensors need looking at.
Crew at over 7 million?
4 Superlasers?
May the force be with you, my friend. |
You know, you keep saying it ought to be bigger, even beigger than the original designer thinks by 20km, but you scoff at my adding four superlasers? Anyway, I can't see why not four or five or ten superasers or it being 380km...I mean, the ship is ridiculous enough before I even added stats to it. _________________ Growing old is inevitable. I would normally say, "That's gonna leave a mark!"
But uh-uh. No way. It's not even going to leave a grease stain! |

I wasn't saying I didn't like it... I've just been thinking through some of the ramifications of such a vessel... tweaking some of the ideas presented for equipment and such. At present there's no listing for passenger room. I realize it's designed as a military ship, but I would think there would be room on board for visiting dignitaries, Imperial high-ups, etc. that would be over and above the listed crew complement. Plus, if you DO take out the superlasers and their accompanying equipment, you free up tons of space to install more passenger space, and also more facilities that would add to the vessel's self-sufficiency. You could create a worldship that contained all the functions of the combined fleet on Battlestar Galactica in one vessel.
Or you could simply have one tremendously bad-@$$ ship that would clean any clock it came up against! I think the possibilities are endless with this one. Think the Errant Venture, but multiplied by about a hundred! |

The embodiment of Palpatine's plans for extra-galactic conquest, the Imperium would have been as powerful as a Death Star, but much more mobile. Equipped with a small fleet of capital ships, thousands of fighters, and innumerable support craft, the Imperium would have had virtually unlimited range since it would also have carried several World Devastators to produce needed supplies. With this ship, the immortal Palpatine would have spread the Empire across the universe. Rumors suggest that the crew would also have been "immortal" as well, thanks to cloning equipment that would have been onboard. Thankfully, Palpatine was not as immortal as he had hoped, and the ship never progressed beyond initial planning before his final death. While some die-hard Imperials wanted to try and actually build it to use against the New Republic, saner heads prevailed and the Imperium remained only a terrible dream??? _________________ Does this headdress make my lekku look fat?

Field Marshal, Fleet Admiral, Grand Poohbah, Chief ****-Nut St. Pierre: "OK, if you want the Far Orbit Fleet to go up against something like that, we'll have to pull out our Premium Rates."
New Republic Officer: "YOUR WHAT??? The last job you did ended up costing a planet 0.5% of it's Gross Planetary Product for the next five years!"
Field Marshal, Fleet Admiral, Grand Poohbah, Chief ****-Nut St. Pierre: "Yes. Those were the regular rates for saving a planet full of people from slavery. This is Navy work, and is based on risk assessment. Oh, and we'll need to have access to all the Ewoks on Endor, and the ability to combat insert them, paid for by you." |

Ray: I STILL want to hear more of your Far Orbit Fleet adventures.
Fehya: You know, if you add a Hydroponics section to this vessel, you'll greatly extend the Consumables rating... |

Before leaving the galaxy, just pick up a few Ithorian Herdships. Just enough to feed all 10 million. What is that like 2, 3 herdships?
Than they are ready to conquer that pesky galaxy over there... the... MILKY WAY!
Let's see, travel time... uh... they should get there in a few thousand years...
They should arrive in the vicinity of the only human world in the Milky Way around November 6th, 2005. Perfect. _________________ My backpack has jets!

See above edited post for latest ship stats.
This has got to be an ID4 style mothership.
Suppose the Emporer knew the outcome at Endor and had a clone waiting onboard this to whisk him off to frontiers new.
Or, he knew of his demise, and trained a special clone to fulfil his dreams in another galaxy.
This is Star Wars, is anything beyond our imaginations, no matter how silly it might appear at first glance? _________________ Does this headdress make my lekku look fat?

It'd be nice to never actually have the Ultra Class built, but I will include the plans for it to exist somewhere in my game. With everything else that was built, and planned, it makes sense this would yet one more mind boggilingly awesome thing they never got around to building.
And quite possibly certian materials of it's poorly conceived prototypical stages would exist on some backwater shipyard as a frame being used like a city, a superlaser being used for planetary defense, et cetera. _________________ My backpack has jets!

Oooohhh! I like it! I like it a lot!!! I may have overread it in the thread, but do we know the author of this creation? Is it you, Fehya?
I know it's hard to imagine something so massive but that's why STAR WARS is so fantastic - things are always on a grander scale than what is humanly conceivable. When you first saw Ep. 4, didn't you ever wonder how a space station could be so huge, but after awhile let it go because it hurt your head trying to figure it out?
I too in my crazy days of RPG "developed" massive ships with the idea small fleets could be contained within. They were never used in gaming, but the idea was cool nevertheless. The "realistic" side of me said to drop the idea, but the STAR WARS fan side said "Go for it! Why not?" 8) _________________ Team ORJ |
