Saturday's session finished up Part 3 (of Episode 2) and began Part 4.
The group trades one of their Y-wings to the Rebels for a Z-95 Headhunter and other equipment, and after some time they learn that Tiree has been recovered. Ordo’s party returns and joins the Safe Haven as they fly to Barab I, where Bishop tries to buy more time to pay off his Barabel loan shark, Thraik. His rival demands payment before they leave, so he and the others sell off many of his weapons, then return and settle his debt.
Part 4:
The group travels to the Vohai Unirail, but quickly learns it faces intense scrutiny and decides to find a fence on Malastare instead. Once in system they are accosted by pirates in the modified freighter White Wing, but a stray shot accidentally destroys their adversary before they can attempt to commandeer it. On Malastare they learn that Ssarroq has been following them and sell Mot’s treasure to Gran fence Nea Ra-Lan. Zebron reveals that he is blind to Sunrider and shows him his damaged lightsaber, but the Jedi kindly declines to train him. Ordo and Zebron heavily modify the Safe Haven, making it sturdier and enhancing her weapons. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green

I've decided to foreshadow the end of Episode 2.
So to do that I got the player of the Jedi (Thorim Sunrider) to send me a random roll (for a Moderate Sense Path), then am giving him the following from a dream:
_____________________________________________________
You sense that you are with your travelling companions, but it is a vague sense, you don’t actually see any of them.
There is great heat around you, and the stagnant aroma of death and decay. The humidity is stifling, and waves of heat sometimes cloud your vision, making things blurry. You get the impression that if you stepped off the path, you’d instantly sink into molten magma, as if you were in the heart of a volcano or walking on the surface of a star.
Suddenly you realize that one of your companions is ahead of you and in mortal danger, and your Jedi-honed instincts tell you to rush to his aid…to lend help! But as you do so, you realize that you can hardly move. You slog forward slowly, and not only does your friend (the one that you are attempting to save) slowly dissolve into something akin to acid, but you look back and see your other colleagues perishing painfully as well.
As you sink into heat and pain, it dawns on you that you should have considered all of your allies, that – though it would be an agonizing, difficult choice - it would have been better for everyone if you’d been willing to sacrifice one, to allow all of the others to live… _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Part 4: Noble Sacrifice
The group travels to the Vohai Unirail, but quickly learns that it faces intense scrutiny and decides to find a fence on Malastare instead. After Rebel agent Brellin drops off the transport Nova Burst loaded with weaponry for their next mission, Ordo announces to the others that he has officially joined the organization; they also learn that Zorace has been given the rank of Lieutenant. The heroes play sabacc together at the Zillo Beast and arrange a meeting with Esteek, a Gran interested in purchasing Imperial equipment from Bishop. Later, at an empty speeder shop, they are instead ambushed by Imperial forces! Dark Jedi Inquisitor Jerec, backed by his Chistori bodyguard Tagora and elite commando troopers, seems intent on turning the Jedi, but Zorace draws his attention away. Sunrider pulls Bishop out of the fight, and Zorace activates a blast door, sacrificing himself to allow the others to get away! Returning to the Jelvor system in the Safe Haven, they locate Sunrider’s starfighter, and the Jedi suddenly remembers something! Not far away they locate a second ship containing his padawan Khaya Shan, as well as an artifact that hides things from the Force. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green

I just added a fun little Star Wars opening crawl for the beginning of Episode III, scheduled to begin tomorrow night.
If you click on it, I recommend also clicking the little box in the lower left, to make it full-screen (once it begins). _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Thanks, Dromdarr!
Here's a picture taken during some of tonight's play (I'll give details later). In it, the PCs duck for cover, as the alien natives they've just met rush headlong at an Imperial patrol in a swamp.

Episode III: THE MIGHT OF THE EMPIRE
After many adventures in the Outer Rim, a band of heroes has allied with the Rebellion against the evil Galactic Empire. On Malastare, Grevin Zorace sacrificed himself to allow his friends to escape from Inquisitor Jerec, a powerful Dark Jedi.
Returning to the Jelvor system, the party recovers Thorim Sunrider’s starfighter as well as his suddenly remembered padawan, Khaya Shan, and her own ship.
Now the group flies to Shaymore in the Expansion Region to aid the native Sessehshellah. In addition to supplying them with weapons, the adventurers plan to help them resist the Imperials, who have begun numerous mining operations, exploiting the natural wonder of the planet to fuel their never-ending war machine…
Upon landing the Safe Haven on Shaymore, the group joins the indigenous Sessehshellah as they recklessly attack an Imperial patrol that strays into their marshes. They easily eliminate many stormtroopers, but a hoverscout is able to flee. The party helps the Sesseh’ return with their dead and brings back a captive stormtrooper, but soon realizes they have no way of dealing with a captive, turning the Imperial over to the natives. Word arrives that a nearby Sesseh’ village was wiped out by the Empire in a punitive raid. The Rebels provide laser pistols to the primitive residents and exhort them to more subtle and indirect tactics. After a week of training them, they set up an ambush. After dispatching a pack of amphibious waggorus, they take down another Imperial patrol, this time slaying all of the troops and commandeering their hoverscout. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green

If they didn't block transmissions, the word the patrol was attacked should still have gotten out. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Good point, garhkal. And the fact that the hoverscout escaped (the first time) with a description of the attack doesn't help.
Add to that the fact that the Jedi used his lightsaber, and I imagine word will be travelling back to TPTB that a Jedi is there. That could bring Jerec (and lots of forces), I would imagine. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Perhaps the next 'patrol' should be an ambush situation to lure them out. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Great idea, garhkal. I think I'll try that! _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

That or a red herring to get them away from the village ... Think US Cav vs Indians. That or a patrol be a sacrifice so that the Imperials can then follow them back to the village, and then play US Cav to the Indians on them. _________________ "And so I am become a knight of the Kingdom of Dreams and Shadows!" - Mark Twain

Another very good idea! Of course, in addition to all of these tactics the Imperials will be "phoning home" to let the bigwigs know that a Jedi has been spotted way out in the Expansion Region! _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

All good ideas.

Well, I went with the idea posted here, but the PCs didn't take the bait. They decided to focus on their primary mission, which at that point was to go strike a power plant. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |
