Just by coincidence Guardian_A, that's how both GMs in our gaming group (me and another guy) agreed to do the lightsabre forms and it's been working perfectly in gameplay. Using general Lightsabre skill just uses Form I, to gain access to the qualities of other forms and special manoeuvres you must specialise.
But you can also specialise with various lightsabre construction types (duelling sabre, double bladed sabre, etc.), and gain the bonuses of that construction type.
When you're trying to squeeze maximum capability from your CP pool and equipment it really helps, little things like these. And also makes more unique PCs. |

@Raven: Sweet; you can teach my character the double-bladed style, and I can teach yours dual-wielding, if he's interested.
As for the Forms, what I've seen most often is that when a character has the Lightsaber skill, they start out with Form 1. Rather than specializing, once they reach 5D in Lightsaber, they can add another Form to their repertoire. Afterwards, for every 2D they achieve in Lightsaber (i.e. at 7D, 9D, etc.) they add another Form if they wish. Once a Form is added, the character is able to use the special attacks and/or defenses that are inherent to that Form...however, even when that has been done, most of the time I've not seen many people make use of them. Quite honestly, in my case most of the time I forget that I have the Forms on there, and so simply end up using the Lightsaber skill as it is, rather than adding in the special moves. |

Exactly; it'll be a good way to build cohesion between our characters. |

Hey Frandal? I was writing up my post and I noticed that you had your Ringtail buzz Garren on his way out of the ship and fly on to land by Mishi and Zela. Garren has been doing a doubletime search of the ship looking for any structural issues and will probably be the last one to leave the ship. So I'm just going to write it in as he leaves last the winged one tears past him and flies onboard. _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. K, sorry about the delay, I've been having some additional issues at work and have been trying to apply for a better job with more steady hours. I'm posting now. _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times... before the Empire. "

Sorry about the recent absence. I'm in the middle of a "vacation" that is taking up a lot more of my time that originally anticipated. I'm trying to get my game threads caught up by this weekend. |

Don't worry about it Guard, I've been having some trouble finding the time to post as well. Being a full time stay home dad is more time consuming than I thought it'd be. lol... _________________ RR

Yeah no worries. Things seem to keep popping up to cut into my time on the site as well. |

Honestly, brother, that seems to be an epidemic spanning multiple boards. I offer no judgement or real complaints; I might tease a bit here and there, but I know how RL can interfere with what's REALLY important (lol), so don't worry about it. We're all here, man. We'll be here when you can be. |
