I successfully combined Star Wars and Resident Evil. It took three months, but I managed to capture the suspense, terror, puzzles, action and drama that made Resident Evil fun and put it into the Star Wars universe. My players enjoyed trying to deal with zombies and all matter of horrors created in the Secret Imperial Lab built on the site of Echo Base. My players were a SpecForce team and had to deal, not only with hungry zombies, but had to explore the base for clues. The base had lost power and as you could imagine, made the situation even more difficult. I even managed to throw in mini bosses, in the form of mutated Wampas.
Even though we managed to get only 2/3 of the way through the adventure, I proved that the hybrid was not only possible, but a lot of fun.

I had planned for a second installment involving Civilian characters, but it never got off the ground. A shame because it was going to be even better than the last.

What do you think? Have any of you done any hybrid games before?

That sounds pretty cool. You should check out the Creatures of the Galaxy book. There are some cool creatures in there that sound like they would have fit well in your adventure, especially the Oskan Blood Eater:
Quote:
Frenzy: The sight of a humanoid or other large creature causes blood eaters to go into a frenzy. This frenzy adds +2D to damage.
Shocked

I'll post their full stats later tonight.

I loved that game, because it was a small specforce unit in the middle of a huge hive of "crazy people!"

I wanted to use beasts native to Hoth. Zombie Snow Mice, Wampas, Tauntans, etc. The civilian game had lots of monsters, especially Tyrants, Nemesis, etc. The most dangerous enemies were the ones you can't see. Twisted Evil

Yes. There's a couple of moments from our "Star Wars meets Alien" adventure under the 'Characters' thread.

A friend of mine did that too.
He wasn't very experience though, so it wasn't very good. My thought was to capture the best of both genres and create a fun and exciting game. He focused on the "Aliens" aspect and it wasn't very thought out. Bottom line, wasn't fun.
Like I said above, I spent three months scaring myself, in order to prepare for the game. FYI, I don't like Zombies very much. Neutral

Remember, those 'Aliens' had very good sneaks, especially in their own territory. Still, star wars sensors are way better than those silly motion trackers. You should have picked up something.

I rolled a 29 or something for my sensors roll... and we all know how matt rolls... he could roll 5 with 8D...

oh wait... he probably set the difficulty to 40 or something because of how "hard" AVP was... Laughing

Thank you Loc Taal,

Still, a Star Wars/Alien hybrid could be a lot of fun. If you capture the suspense and the thrill of Alien with the elements of Star Wars you could get a really good game going.

Does anyone have any ideas for another Star Wars Hybrid?

We played one adventure that incorporated a Predator into the Star Wars universe. It was a very tense game, with the Predator hunting the characters, just like in the original movie... Shocked
