That is true. I was heavily involved in the CCG (collectible card game), and there were a number of missiles (and ships that used missiles) in the last fight (Battle of Endor).
But still, that was like the epic, final battle. The fact that we didn't see them until all bets were off and it was the final skirmish would fit well with at's point (that they were too expensive for the Rebels and not practical for the Empire). _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

heck if modern machine guns and autocannon had three to four times the range of modern ATA missiles, had nearly unlimited ammo, and struck almost instantaneously, we wouldn't be using many ATA missiles in the real world either.
The whole point behind ATA missiles was that they would allow pilots to engage and destroy enemy targets from "safety" by being out of gun range. It never quite worked out that way. |
