Personaly im partial to the sidekicks characters like Chewie, Wedge. But Jedi/force users do still have a place in my heart. Since we play the game in rebellion era finding teachers is hard and improving costs a lot of xp. But Players can specializin in different powers and that makes up for it somewhat. One of the force users we have had was Stoow a force user distantly rellated to master Thon from 4000 years before. he eventually found a jedi padawan in statis in a crippled freighter in an old battlefield she had been there for 40 years and had a more advance force power called long hibrenation for lack of better words. But then again she couldnt teach him more than 4D-5D in his force powers. So he is now looking for more information. _________________ http://selarips.free.fr/wookieetranslator/

At least you said it's USUALLY people not very familiar...
Personally I've always loved everything about the Jedi, so having the chance to play them has always been a big draw for me. I know that most here would scratch their heads at this but I actually HAVE played a number of non-Jedi characters. My first ever SWD6 character was a Brash Pilot (which I know is or was probably one of the two most-used templates ever, along with a Smuggler template) but when I joined the already-running group I asked the GM what the party could use, and Pilot was his answer, so there it was. |

One of these days I really want to do an Imperial campaign, just for the hell of it. It's probably the one variation I haven't tried yet. I think it might be neat to have a campaign based around a stormtrooper squad or something. _________________ Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. |

How did the power on that ship last that long? Also even in regular hibernation trance, jedi still need to come up for water and food. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Thats why it was an advanced power, but the room were she was was sealed. Dident think about power consumption thou. But It was a good story an my players found it entertaining. I held that the force substained the Jedi during the use of this power for story purposes. Rule whise she had to speend a force point now and then to survive. _________________ http://selarips.free.fr/wookieetranslator/

Still way out there for my liking.. While story over rules does have it's place there still has to be some semblance of believability to it. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I've seen more outlandish stuff in official material though. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

Nothing's jumping to my brain immediately, though I had a couple in mind when I made the comment.
If you do a little reading through some of the less popular books and through a lot of the comics, especially stuff from the Splinter of the Mind's eye and into the 80s... you get to encounter some stuff that at the least, on par with a Jedi in suspended animation for decades. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

Like Callista's "spirit" being trapped for years in the machinery of the Eye of Palpatine, and then occupying the body of Cray Mingla? _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them."

Much like that
I knew there was a reason why the Jedi in stasis seemed so familiar. _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.
