Interesting so far. That surrender situation has come up in a home game, where i was a player. The gm was arguing with the jedi that leaving his fellows to die due to fear of getting captured was letting the dark side rule his thoughts, based on yoda;s statement, that fear leads to hate, which leades to aggression which leads to suffering....... In part i do agree.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Ok, with a Jedi involved he may possibly get a DSP if his actions were clearly out of cowardice and/or fear, and even then I am reluctant. Refusing to be captured isn't necessarily an act of fear. Logic can have a lot to do with it too, as knowing what the empire does to it's victims...err, prisonners, and knowing they most likely wont keep their word about the medical attention to the fallen. This is a gray area at best. The Jedi certainly should have considered the implications of condemming his comrades to death though. _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |

I don't see how giving the Empire three more prisoners is a "good" thing. My Jedi character would not surrender to the Imperials under any condition, but he would attempt to negotiate a temporary cease fire so both the Imperials and the Rebels could treat their wounded. _________________ Know Jesus, Know Peace.

It sounds to me like the Evil Bob would practically already be on the Dark Side already. I think definitely a second Dark Side point, possibly more- likewise for the Tuskens. Sometimes, one Dark Side point does not seem enough to adequately cover the darkness of the actions- I think a per-life-taken rule wouldn't be unreasonable (I count Anakin's scene as a bad example, since, let's face it, Anakin's character development in relation to the Dark Side was pretty unrealistic and inconsistent anyway- "Good guy, good guy, good guy- sudden murder of a village full of
'civilians,' good guy, good guy, emotionally tortured good guy, Mace Windu loses an arm, "What have I done?! ...Okay, I pledge myself to you forever."" So probably not a good example to compare to.) At the very least, I'd issue 2 extra points (beyond the calling on the Dark Side)- one for the dark action in the first place, the second to represent the multiple lives lost- especially with the raiders, where an individual action took each life (as opposed, to, say, an explosion that kills multiple people.) In the case of the Mortally Wounded scenario, it's borderline to me- if their staying away is to accomplish the mission which will save lives, and the MW character is in "Don't do it! Leave me! Accomplish the mission!" mode, a case could be made for avoiding the Dark Side point for 'normal' PCs... but in the case of the force-sensitive character, that clearly falls under the heading of "by their inaction, allowing evil to happen" also getting a dark side point, as outlined in the second edition rules. _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com
