OK here is the first run.

Possession
NOTE this is a dark side power. This is a control-sense-alter power.
Control roll Very difficult (20) modified by Relationship. Add Perception (or willpower) roll if target is unwilling
Sense roll Very difficult (20) modified by proximity. Add Perception (or willpower) roll if target is unwilling.
Alter roll Very difficult (20) modified by proximity. Add Perception (or willpower or alter) roll if target is unwilling.

Required powers: Absorb/Dissipate energy, control pain, emptiness, hibernation trance, reduce injury, remain conscious, resist stun, life detection, life sense, magnify senses, receptive telepathy, sense Force, telekinesis, farseeing, projective telepathy, receptive telepathy, control another’s pain, feed on dark side, inflict pain, return another to consciousness, dim another's senses, transfer Force, affect mind.

Warning: Any Jedi using this power receives one Dark Side Point. If attempting to possess an unwilling host, the Jedi receives two Dark Side Points.

Unlike the Transfer Life force power used by Palpaltine to inhabit clones, this power is a temporary subjugation of a living person's will by the force users. It is far worse than Controlling their mind, in that it pushes their 'soul' into a dormant state allowing the Jedi (Sith) to take over the body as if it was their own.
Once inhabited, the Jedi (Sith) can do any action as if the 'controlled' body was his own, even using the owning body's physical stats over his own (Dex/Per and Str), while his own mental (Know, Tech and Mech) stats are used.
If any act is undertaken that can potentially result in the controlled body receiving a dark side point, the subjugated owner can make an instant willpower roll off against the willpower (Or control) skill of the Jedi (Sith) who is in his body. Successfully making this roll, forces the inhabiting spirit out, and stuns the person for 1 round.
At any time the target body receives a wound (or greater), they also get a willpower roll off to break free and expel the controlling influence.
Regardless, of those other 2 situations, a willpower dice off for potential expulsion is made at a time frame of 1 hour PER full D of the controlling influences Alter skill, and every hour there after till the controller is either Expelled or they drop the power.

While inhabiting the body of another the Jedi (Sith)'s own body is in a state of unconsciousness. And as such is very vulnerable to being killed.

Note: If the controlling influence is still inhabiting the body when a kill result happens, an immediate Strength roll *using his own body's value). The damage he has to resist was the initial roll - 16.[/b]

Thank you, that wasn't what I had planned but vary useable.

One was i was going to have the dark sider's body in hibernation trance. That would also limit the time of possession as the user has a time limit tel the body dies.

While in the host body, is there a -3D MAP to any skill rolls for maintaining the possession?

I would say yes.

If the possessor's body is killed while he is in the host is there a chance to make the possession permanent? Would transfer life need to be used?

Can the host use character or force points to combat the possession?

Can a possessed force user still use control powers to combat the possession, after the initial possession roll?
If so can Remain Conscious be used to be a conscious observer during the possession?

Can another force user detect the possession through the force?

Can creatures be possessed in this manner?

This seems like a useful power for Sith spirits. How would the power function for them, since they don't have a body to leave behind?

I would say while inhabiting someone else, the force user can still access his own powers. If in the body of another jedi, i would say he CAN'T use any powers that the body's soul knew.

Nope.

Could two characters with this power switch bodies?

If they wished..

Nope. The power is not being 'maintained' like say lightsaber combat or control mind.
But i can see some feeling that MAPS should acru.

Nope. At no time can this power be used to perma take someone over. Transfer life would be needed for that. BUT if already in someone, AND they had the TL power, they could make all the rolls to try and transfer life to make it permanent.

To raise their willpower/Perception roll to combat it before possession takes place, or during the 'fight of wills' that periodically come up. Sure.

Nope. Everything he is, is subsumed during the time of possession. He won't even remember anything done while it was going on.

Hmm.. Not sure right now.

not sure why they would want to do so, but i would initially say yes.

Spirits would have a version all onto their own, but using similar mechanics.

But why bother with a separate power when this one performs the desired effect?

It would be interesting if someone could pick up the conflict to remain in control through use of receptive telepathy.

A Difficult Perception check to note the change in behavior, with time around the possessed adjusting difficulty.

If the check passes, then the GM can drop the hint to try Receptive Telepathy with a opposed Willpower roll by the possessor. Should the telepathy win, the thoughts of the possessed are not what are expected, and maybe narrate that the thoughts aren't of the person that's in front of them.

Could a willing host use Remain Conscious as the possession is taking place, rather than fight it, to be a conscious observer. I could see this being a Sith training method. The student gets a first person view of a power as used by the master while he is completely dominating his apprentice.

Do willing hosts receive a DSP?

I can see a WILLING subject using something to 'act as an observer' but i am not sure remain conscious would be the power i would use.
As to whether a willing subject would still give a DSP or not, i still think yes.

A couple of random thoughts (just adding more chaos, not more order . . . sorry!).

1. Why make this necessarily a darkside power? I get the similarity to transfer life, but why not make it reliant on the will of the target? Willful target, no initial DSP. Unwilling target, 1 initial DSP. Regardless, I agree that any evil actions taken while inhabiting the host should be chocked up to the invader.

2. Is the host conscious of his surroundings and what his body is doing? Should this be up to the discretion of the invading presence?

3. Alternatively, how about degrees of success here. Highest level of success, the transfer is successful and the invader can choose whether the host is conscious. Next level down, the host is automatically conscious. Bare success, the host is not only conscious but can mentally oppose the invader. In this last scenario, maybe both consciousnesses can declare actions, but any physical action requires an opposed Willpower roll (or host Control v. invader's Sense/Alter) to succeed, and maybe both can even activate their own Force powers.
