To get this back on the track of the topic at hand...
From my understanding, Blaster Weapons are like Machine Guns on Starfighters. High rate of fire, low penetration and damage ability. Like the Browning .303s on the early Spitfires. While good against lightly armoured Starfighters, and Speeder Vechicles, not so good against any Fighter that has decent armour (Which is the part where the Z-95 got it's reputation. It was the first of the TOUGH Starfighters.).
Which brings the reason that fighters have cannons now, like the Hispano 20mm cannons put on later Spitfires. Lower rate of fire, more punch.
Ammunition isn't as much an issue in Star Wars. Blaster Gas is cheap and compact. Although I do like the rules added in The Far Orbit Project.
So, essentially, it's not a matter of the Headhunter being a "Bad" starfighter, simply an old one that's had it's usefulness pass on due to changing design concepts. |

Don't forget you can use combined actions. 4 Z-95's combining their attack on a stock YT-1300 should be able to overwhelm it. |

'Taint no such thing as a STOCK Light Freighter! Not one week after a good Captain has his hands on it.
Or one hour after a Engeneer has! |

combined actions are not worth a damn if the freighter is faster then the Z-95s.
Make sure your players set a pretty good trap. |

For that to happen, the Freighter would have to have Military-Equivilent Engines, which will attract attention in most civilized places in the Galaxy. |

It's an old spacers legend. Many well traveled captains claim to have seen the legendary Stock YT1300. Some claim it could be seen in the region surrounding the Corellian Spaceyards, just for a fleeting moment, and then it would instantly become all jazzed-up like all YT1300....
All a bunch of nonesense, if you ask me. _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |

My Grandpappy saw one once. Shiny and new on the showroom floor. Full of promise.
Then Uncle Billy bought it, tore the engine down and blueprinted it, added some chrome fins with extra sensor recievers in them, and "Found" a Turbolaser somewhere to mount in a hidden spot.
Why, yes, the family business is Wookiee Moonshining, how did you know? |

Stock as in what's written in the book. Like they've said. Pretty hard to come by. All ships get some mods pretty fast. |

At the very least, those ugly and stupid looking strap-on cargo containers. |
