I will typically give them a free perception check in most situations like that, to detect 'a glint from the sniper rifle catching the light' or the like, at a moderate or difficult difficulty; if they can make that, they get a chance to dodge. If they fail it, then they're caught unawares. So far, it hasn't caused any problems- everyone's always felt that they had a fair chance while still having the possibility of being caught unawares by a sniper- which is kinda what snipers are for.  _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com
