There are many species that see in the infrared spectrum. Thus even a Defel would lose his species sneak bonus to a Trandoshan. |

Are you sure? Because it did say that their skin/fur absorbs ALL forms of visible light, didn't it? _________________ 'God gave you grace to purge this place

infared sees heat and only a little bit of light.

Sneak is the skill used to avoid sensors, sensors! If the Defel was smart, he would have a high sneak roll anyway. _________________ "I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings." -Max Payne

yeah, unfortunately... i was a little mad when we realized this... due to the fact that his infiltrator had 9D sneak... and i don't know very many people that have a sensors roll that can touch that... _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Oh right..
I guess I've never run into a situation where that would make any difference, our defel has 10D sneak! _________________ 'God gave you grace to purge this place

Is that Defel a pc or NPC?
I like Defels, but I'm not sure I could play one. _________________ "I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings." -Max Payne

I've never seen a defel with that high of a sneak, because why raise the skill when a majority of the people will no be able to see you do to your added species bonus. I'm not saying that it wouldn't be hard to see the defel, just that the couple of dice that adds to sneak would not be added. |

I've seen a Defel with an 11D sneak. He's in Wretched Hives of Scum & Villainy. _________________ "I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings." -Max Payne

considering that 14 dice is the best in the galaxy I would say that it is not the average Defel. |

True. But I wouldn't want to come across him in a dark alley. Not only is he sneaky, he's a champion fighter in the Broken Tusk. _________________ "I don't know about angels, but it's fear that gives men wings." -Max Payne

how do you guys handle when the defel has on armor that covers over 50% of its body? should the defel still get the sneak bonus? ur gm says that if the defel has on armor, it should not get the full sneak bonus. anyone else play that way? _________________ "Without the risk of failure, there is no hope of glory" |

it depends on the type of armor... because if he were wearing pieces of stormtrooper armor or something, i would say he would definately lose his sneak bonus, but something like a shadowsilk combat jumpsuit or something like that... that's a different story _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. i see what you mean, but, if the defel has on shadow silk, does he get the bonus for the suit and for his fur? _________________ "Without the risk of failure, there is no hope of glory" |
