|
|
My players have a wealthy contact who collects and restores old Starfighters. I want to develop a scenario where the players have to find a Z-95 Headhunter Junkyard with tons of mostly complete ships with plenty of good parts for their benefactor. This is a more investigative scenario but I need an idea for the final chapter. Where is this "Headhunter Graveyard"???
Caveat: The big local junkyard on Korad (Elrood Sector) has all the Z-95 headhunter carcasses fenced off and mined by a local Imperial Commander. Although the party frequent the planet, the party wont even think of going near the Commander's stash. There wont be any big stashes of Headhunters on Korad unless somebody rolls at least 4 sixes on the Wild Die on a Search roll. Even a roll that high will mean the ships will be found burred under something big (Bulk Transport).
Thoughts? Suggestions? _________________ Star Wars Deckplans Alliance

If you go to an automotive junkyard here on earth you might see a car that you’d say to yourself why isn’t this driving off the lot and then you discover the transmission or the engine is grenaded and it looks perfectly normal under the hood. They are laying in repose to provide parts for fighters that are still functioning or were built in later production and are reverse compatible. _________________ Star Wars Deckplans Alliance

The Party’s benefactor wants original equipment parts, not reproductions, but original parts in a condition that can be refurbished. These are kind of the classic cars of the Star Wars Galaxy. They are restored to new condition and then compete with other starfighters for awards. This is the kind of stuff wealthy Nobles do to entertain themselves on the planet Eliad in the Minos Cluster.
Caveat number two: There’s a good chance the rebel alliance will get wind of this search. They would love to get a squadron of Z-95 headhunters to refurbish for space combat. This might prove interesting as the party may acquire a tail as the rebellion tries to find out what the party knows. _________________ Star Wars Deckplans Alliance

One of the other wrecking planets or junk worlds in the galaxy?
Bracca
Lotho Minor
Ferrix
Raxus Prime
Karthon
Possibly an opportunity to do something with the scrapper guild that is seen in Jedi fallen order?
Hope this helps

So its a race between the party and the rebels.. I wonder, if any will turn TO the rebellion? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

My adventuring party plays both sides. They do have tendencies to favor the rebellion but if the empire is offering a good deal they will take it. Whether or not they compete against the rebellion is something I leave open ended and will simply improvise as the scenario progresses. Who knows there may even be a third-party looking for headhunter parts. I’ll give the story enough room to develop. _________________ Star Wars Deckplans Alliance

It's a bit more nuanced than that. I have yet to find a group of players who want to dive into the Rebellion 100% in any SWRPG campaign. This scenario is a business venture. The players will be coming up against all kinds of opponents, not all combative. The denizens of the galaxy often pursue their own interests, some will help the party, and some hinder, for the right price. _________________ Star Wars Deckplans Alliance

I’m not a big fan of the alignment graph when I am playing Dungeons & Dragons. There are two force sensitives in the group. Neither are Jedi because the Jedi are hunted in 1 ABY. One is a Dim-U Priest and the other one has learned his force powers piecemeal. _________________ Star Wars Deckplans Alliance
