Ok, I don't know if this belongs here or in the Artwork forum, so move it if necessary. Also, as far as the art itself, let me know if I need to do anything to make it "Unofficial", so as not to step on any legal toes.

I've been working on filling out my WEG Minis collection - picking up stuff I never found or had the chance to get back in the day - when a thought occured to me...what if they had continued with the box sets instead of converting everything to blister packs?

To that end, I scanned in a box cover as a template and created these 5 "What If...?" (to borrow a title from Marvel) box covers.

Flickr Album - Star Wars WEG

If you download the full size versions, they're made to print out and glue over any spare minis boxes you may have. Cut at the four thin white lines at the top and bottom to create the tabs to overlap at the corners. Fold all four sides and wrap the excess around to the inside of the cover, just like the originals did.

Side thought - what figures could be cribbed from existing ones to fill out the FarStar and Thrawn sets? FarStar crew is 11 characters but only 9 figures were produced. Ackbar or the generic Mon Cal could be Doctor Akanseh.
Which figure would you use for Captain Ciro? Thrawn Trilogy had the set of 3 - Thrawn, Joruus and Pellaeon - plus the Noghri pack (two of which are the same), so that leaves 4 to 5 potential empty spots there.

I moved this to Artwork, because Artwork doesn't get enough love, and cover art for 'What If' mini box sets is more art than tool.

Nice work! The only WEG minis I have are the two blister packs that came with the Mos Eisley box set.

Nice! I had a few of these box sets, and still haven't painted some of the minis.

That's a mixture of figures from Heroes Of The Rebellion (Han and Chewie), ANH (Sandtrooper, Jawa, Hammerhead, Greedo) and Mos Eisley Cantina (the remaining aliens).
