I'm actually way more invested in his adventures in the sand than I am his crime lord business. Really kind of looking forward to seeing how that goes, even though we know its end point.

OK, I absolutely love the Mod Styling shown in the latest episode!

Yes, I know, I'm weird.

The Vespa Power Rangers? Yeah, that took me right out of it.

To each his own, though!

They cannot be native or long term residents to Tatooine. Given their look and style, it makes me wonder that none of the local thugs went medieval on their a***s.

IMHO, they just spoiled brats of some wealthy families that run Canto Bight casinos - judging by the looks. Their ship just crashed on Tatooine but they are too stubborn to call their parents to pick them up.

I think you've got it right there. I honestly think that this look and style is a lot of fun for Star Wars. I fully believe that these people exist somewhere in the galaxy. I think that this gang was such a great idea, that they didn't stop to think whether they looked the part for Tatooine.

The mention of the witches of Dathomir riding rancors is sadly coincidental with the death of the author who created that today.

After watching the Wookiee fight scene, I’ll allow a 6D STR Wookiee. (Or whatever the max STR is). That fight scene was COOL!

I love how, with all the injuries he was continually getting, he mostly just seemed ticked off rather than hurt by them.

It demonstrates why it's not wise to upset a Wookiee beyond the delimbing thing. 'Cause, that's messier than a lightsaber! The ends are not cauterized.

Like second thing I watched on my new HD TV. It certainly looked good.

Congrats on the new TV.

griff wrote:
It wasn't bad

Glad you thought it was ok.

I was nonplussed by the first episode, but became more interested with the second episode. I think for the first episode I may have ruined it myself because the whole episode, I was still overwhelmed with the same feeling I had the whole second season of The Mandalorian: Why even bring Boba Fett back to life? He should just stay dead. At first, that made it hard to disregard the films and enjoy this as an independent "Star Wars" product, what I am trying to do now.

MrNexx wrote:
I like where it's going... a mix of "where Boba was after the Sarlaac" and "gaining control of Jabba's empire."

Fun to watch. I'm interested in where this is going. I'm assuming it's going to be to the likes of, "Wow, I was a great bounty hunter. SURELY I'm going to be a great crime boss! Right guys? ...right? ... guys?"

Glad you guys like it. The question is, Why does Boba Fett even want to become a crime boss?

TauntaunScout wrote:
It was ok. It did nothing bad but there's potential for some fatal cracks already. It's a mistake to bridge the gap between ROTJ and The Mandalorian with actual screen time of Temura "Not Jeremy Bulloch's Body Type" Morrison hanging out contemporaneous to the Battle of Endor.

Glad you thought it was ok. Did you notice that they didn't include any slapstick comedy footage from RotJ showing the skinny Boba Fett? That was intentional for multiple reasons. I think we are meant to ignore the body type difference, like we ignore it when different actors play the same character. Young Han is noticeably shorter than Harrison Ford when you see them together.

Ninja-Bear wrote:
So far I enjoyed it. Glad the Gamorreans proved loyal. I’m not surprised by the Sand People scenes. Not bad but nothing really new. I liked the scene with the Stormtrooper in the Sarlacc. It added on screen what is know about their armor. I thought him offering to help the Rodian was out of character but I never really followed the EU of Fett so that could be me. I thought he is a heartless Bounty Hunter. And even though the fight scene was cool at the end (assassination attempt). I felt like we’ll that was inefficient. Though again for cool points, very nice!

Glad you are enjoying it. But this is the Disney canon, not the EU. Does the EU Boba offer any insight to the Disney Boba's character anyway?

The EU Boba was this really weird character who always told the truth and always kept his word. He felt the Empire was the legitimate government in the galaxy so he actually had a political stance against the Rebel Alliance, which I guess is how he justified working for a crime lord, because Han was a war criminal (??). And he was the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. RotJ was just an oddly bad day.

I watched it last night with a big bowl of popcorn and the lights out. I enjoyed it, too.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Leona Makk wrote:
I am in a very Mando Mood today.

I'm not sure about the EU Boba, but the Disney canon Boba is not a Mandalorian. According to The Mandalorian show, Jango was a foundling, but when he was an adult he only wore the armor and did not embrace Mandalorian culture. His clone Boba that he raised as a son, did not learn any Mandalorian culture from Jango. Boba only understood the reason that Mando claimed the armor, because he felt it belonged to a true Mandalorian. It was the only fact that Boba's "father" was a foundling of a Mandalorian that made Mando relent and let him have the armor without further contest. It wasn't because Boba Fett was a legit Mandalorian.

My wife and I are enjoying the series, especially the scenes with the Tusken Raiders, as we did with The Mandalorian last season. Ever since Tatooine Manhunt and Knights of the Old Republic added to their lore, I've been wanting to see the Sandpeople get more screen time.

The inclusion of Camie and Fixer at Tosche Station in Episode 2 was a nice return-to-canon of A New Hope's deleted scenes.

Glad you are enjoying it. I liked the second episode a lot more than the first. I agree about Tuskens. Camie and Fixer were a nice touch.

In my opinion the first episode was pretty boring. There was very little action, the story moved a bit slow, and the episode had barley any dialogue. I don't think it is very compelling and I don't think it would pull me into the series if I didn't love Star Wars. Me being a massive Star Wars fan I was going to finish the series just because it is Star Wars. The second episode was much better than the first, the story line was more engaging and you got to see the bonds start to build between Boba and the Tuskens. The action was really awesome as well. The train sequence was very inspired by Solo which I think is a really good movie and the second episode as a whole was more engaging and interesting to me. I am excited to see what the third episode brings to the table and how it compares to the first 2.

Yes! The train scene was the close-to-the-ground, desert version of the train sequence in Solo, but this one being derivative didn't make it not cool.

It seemed weird that the Rodian would hinder an escape attempt and that the Tuskin would allow their kid to wander out with two prisoners.

Exactly, in both cases.

I guess Tatooine has spice mines? Or were they transporting it from Mos Eisley spaceport to other locations on Tatooine?

Fair questions.

Watched the second episode with my son and in the beginning of it he like 50 minutes? And at the end we were both like it ended already? Where did the time go? Right afterwards we watched Under the Helmet. We both are enjoying it.

Cool. We rewatched the second episode before watching the third.

Yes! I thought he was so cool from his very first appearance. (I had a Wookiee antagonist in my very first campaign.) I just immediately loved this character.

I statted out Wookiees with a max Strength of 5D+2. I gave a 6D max to Herglics. But only NPCs would ever have above 5D in my game.

I'm not so sure about youth getting designer cybernetic implants for fun, but yeah maybe to the rest of that. Sure, vespa speeder gangs exist somewhere in the galaxy, but yeah, they were sorely out of place on Tatooine.

Will,

Thanks for the shout outs! We seem to be on the same page on BoBF.

My big issue is WHY is this show made? They don't really seem to have an actual direction they are going.

"Boba Fett wants to be a crime lord" is the plot (as it is). But Boba Fett has no infrastructure, training, knowledge, or mindset to be a crime lord. The show is in actuality more like "Boba Fett continually getting his @$$ handed to him and doesn't hurt people anymore." Which is a strange view of a crime lord....

I feel there is a large bait-n-switch between the BF we got in Mando S2 and the BF in BoBF.

Is it possible that BF is just not that great a character to hold his own? Does he work better as a mysterious antagonist?

It was like Neo-StarWars-Cyberpunk - "style over substance" (like Akira or Cyber City Odeo 808) but in a tamed version of PG-13.
