I went with a bold version but it is only a minor variation to what is posted here. I will be using it for more ships so I'll have to post the markup code sometime just to add it to the others here. Maybe I'll tweak mine further before sharing, to fine tune it to what I like best.

Sure, but they are stickied to the top of this forum for your convenience, so they are are 'saved' here for quick access.

Thanks for sharing your version. I see that you went with underscore, which is fine. I just thought I would answer this question for you and anyone else reading this just in case it might help.

On a Mac, you can option-[dash] to get a longer dash: "–". PC may also have this option somehow but I do not know how to do it.

To have multiple 'blank' spaces, there is also the BB code trick of using white font colour tags to hide characters, the same thing we do for spoiler text. Depending on the space I want, I sometimes put two periods, or period-space-period, then change the font colour to white to make them "disappear" from view.

The other option would be to use the List code to insert tabs:
Code:
[b][size=18]{Ship}[/size][/b]

[b]Craft:[/b]
[b]Type:[/b]
[b]Scale:[/b]
[b]Length:[/b]
[b]Skill:[/b] {Skill}: {Ship}
[b]Crew:[/b] # ({Skeleton #} @ +{Difficulty #}) & # Gunners
[b]Crew Skill:[/b][list][i]Astrogation[/i]
[i]Gunnery[/i]
[i]Piloting[/i]
[i]Shields[/i]
[i]Sensors[/i][/list][b]Transport Capacity:[/b][list][u]Passengers:[/u]
[u]Small Craft / Vehicles:[/u]
[u]Cargo:[/u][/list][b]Consumables:[/b]
[b]Hyperdrive Multiplier:[/b]
[b]Hyperdrive Backup:[/b]
[b]Nav Computer:[/b]
[b]Maneuverability:[/b]
[b]Space:[/b]
[b]Atmosphere:[/b]
[b]Hull:[/b]
[b]Shields:[/b]
[b]Sensors:[/b][list][i]Passive[/i]
[i]Scan[/i]
[i]Search[/i]
[i]Focus[/i][/list][b]Weapons:[/b][list][u]{Weapon Type}[/u][list][i]Fire Arc:[/i]
[i]Crew:[/i]
[i]Skill:[/i]
[i]Fire Control:[/i]
[i]Range:[/i]
--Space:
--Orbital:
--Atmosphere:
[i]Damage:[/i][/list][/list]

Which ends up looking thusly:
    {Ship}

    Craft:
    Type:
    Scale:
    Length:
    Skill: {Skill}: {Ship}
    Crew: # ({Skeleton #} @ +{Difficulty #}) & # Gunners
    Crew Skill:
      Astrogation
      Gunnery
      Piloting
      Shields
      Sensors
    Transport Capacity:
      Passengers:
      Small Craft / Vehicles:
      Cargo:
    Consumables:
    Hyperdrive Multiplier:
    Hyperdrive Backup:
    Nav Computer:
    Maneuverability:
    Space:
    Atmosphere:
    Hull:
    Shields:
    Sensors:
      Passive
      Scan
      Search
      Focus
    Weapons:
      {Weapon Type}
        Fire Arc:
        Crew:
        Skill:
        Fire Control:
        Range:
          Space:
          Orbital:
          Atmosphere:
        Damage:
The coding is a little more confusing during the writing process, since you have to use as little spacing as possible to avoid huge gaps, but the end result is a bit cleaner.

You can use the [list ] tag, but it can be a little glitchy at times.

I don't use that one that much for that reason, because the post creation process is harder for me, but it is another option.

Edited the bold print template to reflect the update mentioned here.

EDIT: Which means I'm now feeling the urge to go through my entire stat archive and update to the new standard... Oh well, at least I'll have something to do this weekend.

It sounds like a grind, but I am the same way and would probably do it too...

I'm not seeing the 'white font' spacing being used on the template.

I was referring to the transport capacity. I'll be using white font spacing in the future, but it would require a LOT of effort to insert it into every stat I've posted. So, baby steps.

Gotcha.

I was only referring to the template post, not every stat you've posted.

Below is the form I use for posting spaceships. I'm not reinventing the Hoersch-Kessel ion drive here! See R&E p.246-247 for the explanations for most things. I left out Crew Skill, but if you want to add it back you can under Crew.

"Subatmospheric" range is for very low altitude atmospheric flying, and also aquatic if the ship is capable of travelling in water. I've added subatmospheric range to weapons, and I've added both atmosphere and subatmospheric to sensor ranges. Atmospheric sensors ranges follow the same formula as weapons, and subatmospheric range is generally half of atmosphere.

For the forum code, copy and paste the green "Code" at the bottom of this post. Repeat anything as needed. If anything doesn't apply to your ship, remove it. Please remember to keep your images to 750 pixels wide or less.
