Well, as I said in the Another Game thread, I've been thinking of trying my hand at hosting a PbP adventure. So I guess this is it. Element of Fire is going to be set around 3,996 BBY during the Great Sith War. If you've got the Tales of the Jedi Companion, take a look at the skills listed on it. A lot of the skills on one of the templates for the Galactic Civil War and New Republic eras will no doubt still be working during the TotJ era, but there will be a few differences. Like you don't have blaster, blaster repair, and jet pack operation as skills available. But you could replace the blaster skill with the pulse-wave weapons skill. Also, don't think about most of the weapons, equipment, and even droids offered for the regular eras of play. What mean is don't use them even if you use them. Things are a little more archaic so if you wanted to take like a DL-44 heavy blaster pistol, don't call it a DL-44 heavy blaster cause it will be thousands of years before it's first manufactured. Rather, call it something like a PT-111 heavy pulse-wave pistol and give it the same stats. I'm not saying not to use them, just to rename. Jet packs are about the only thing I'd say to forget, but rocket packs do exsist. Again, if you have it, take a look at the Tales of the Jedi Companion and see what's in there.

Also, I'm looking at least at one or two of the PCs being a Jedi as the PCs will be looking at going up against the Sith and the Krath in this adventure. I may NPC a Jedi on the PCs team if folks don't want to play as such, but it would be nice if at least one or two played as Jedi.

As Jamfke is doing, I'll try rolling folks dice for them using the dice roller the Rancor Pit provides. Players call what they plan on doing and if they will need to use a CP or a FP for that skill. Like Jamfke, if I see the character would succeed without using a CP or an FP, I'll tell you if they used them or not.

For now I think I'll try starting with four to six players and going from there if I feel I can handle more.

I suppose if we want to join we should e-mail you a character template or just state our intention?

Anyways, I'd like a shot at it. I'll send a jedi template your way and if it's not satisfactory, I'll send a different TotJ character.

Thanks for heading up a new PbP, if it's any similar in quality to Uprisings then it should be awesome.

No, when I get the OOC thread for this adventure up you can post the character sheet in there. If you want to e-mail it, then PM me and I'll give you my e-mail.

And I'd say that's two.

Why make a sheet thread for Element of Fire, like we did with Rebel Uprisings?

Will probably do that once enough people are in.

I'll play. None of that Jedi stuff for my character though. Wink

Just wanted to drop in to say "good luck" to you Hellcat, on this new game you're starting, and "good game" to all who decide to join in. Hellcat here has my endorsement!

Not gonna join the game, though, cause 1)Rebel Uprisings already fills all my extra time, and 2)Want to allow other people to join in the PbP fun.

That's cool, Gry, I kinda expected that folks in Rebel Uprisings might not be intrested or to busy with other things. And thanks for the wishes.

Yeah, but don't drop the ball on Rebel Uprisings because of your newfound GM duties! Or else Toba is going to kick Kabakhs metal behind. Wink

Well, considering our GM mentioned in the Another Game thread that he wanted to play in someone elses and when I said there that I'd been thinking about doing this he got all excited, I don't think I can easily drop the ball since I don't think he's going to do so with Rebel Uprisings if he can help it.

What would the expected posting rate? What kind of rate are you looking for?

From the other game, I almost see you striving for a dozen posts a day, (it's not entirely, but I see that happening)

But, most PBP I've seen try for daily, or every second day for a post. Other games go for just a couple posts a week.

So just trying to be sure on what is expected?

Well, as with Rebel Uprisings, I expect there will be other things that will come up that should cut into how often folks can post. As one of my fellow Rebel Uprisings folks said, that would be the real world. Which is to basically say things like work, being sick, a previous engagement (ie another game maybe as a PbP or in person), etc. Esjs hasn't been on for a little bit, but he did explain that he'd have to be gone for a bit before he left. Basically what I'm saying is I don't really have any expectations on post count. People can try to post as often as possible. If that's once a day/night/week, then so be it. If it's twelve times a day/night/week, also so be it.
