I'm planning on doing a story where the heroes have to defend a small Tatooine community from Jabba's gangs and the whole thing turns into some Mad Max style speeder battle in the desert.

Any Star Wars modules out there with ideas for the final battle?

Any of you guys got any ideas for the battle?

Looking for anything here, a bit of color, weird ideas for vehicles [like a skiff being pulled stage coach style by a bunch of speeder bikes] , odd complications, odd people, just anything to make it more crazy and... well... MAD.

Very Happy

I would look at Galaxy guide 1: New hope. Has a little pre-built fight the characters wander into that they either really should, or do need to help.

Oh I'd missed that one!

I just glanced at it and it could prove useful.

Thanks!

I like this idea.

Will each PC have his own speeder?

What about having a spacecraft in the atmosphere dropping bombs and stuff on the track/battlefield?

There is an adventure in one of the Adventure Journals that features what is essentially a speeder destruction derby, complete with stats for various models of armed speeders...

Have a look at 'Repulsorlift Racing and Chasing'

http://www.rancorpit.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5898

We have used it in my game for handling running high-speed battles.

The basic idea is that you assume everyone is moving along in the same speed envelope. And you are rolling for minor position adjustments in relation to each other speeder.

So when one gets a -1 space, it's not really moving backwards, it's just falling back relative to the speed of all the others.

What I've got from such an idea is Mandalorians shouting "Witness Me!" while performing a Kamikaze attack from their jetpacks. Wink

Sorry not to get back to this sooner. It seemed that I’d gotten all the responses people were going to give. But THANK YOU for proving me wrong!

@”Will each PC have his own speeder?”

The ones with no piloting skill will probably end up as gunners on a bigger skiff.

@”What about having a spacecraft in the atmosphere dropping bombs and stuff on the track/battlefield?”

No, I want to keep everything pretty close to ground so there will be a big sand storm in the upper atmosphere to ground any high-fliers.

Also the haze from the storm above will allow me to spontaneously introduce any vehicle I want into a conflict with the PCs having no warning.
“Suddenly, out of the clouds of dust, comes a massive speeder truck with a Rancor on top!” Very Happy

@”There is an adventure in one of the Adventure Journals that features what is essentially a speeder destruction derby, complete with stats for various models of armed speeders...”

Any hint as to which one?

@”Have a look at 'Repulsorlift Racing and Chasing'”

Sounds great! Thanks!

@”What I've got from such an idea is Mandalorians shouting "Witness Me!" while performing a Kamikaze attack from their jetpacks.”

Oh yes. Must have that!

"Enemies for Life", originally published in AJ#4, then republished in Classic Adventures Volume 4: Best of the Adventure Journal.

Thanks CRMcNeill! Those will be handy.

@"Sand storm in the Upper atmosphere?? How?"

Yes it doesn't make much sense, I just needed some reason that neither the good-guys or Jabba will be trying to field any air speeders or starfighters. If you've got a better [and more plausible] idea, I'd love to hear it!
