I like it too, Jedi Skyler. In retrospect, I'm kind of surprised that never occurred to me (especially as I'd read up about Air Force One fairly recently). Nicely done!

"Home One" seemed very clearly a call sign during the attack on the 2nd death star. (Every other ship is referred to by call sign why would Home One be any different?) That argument makes perfect sense to me and Would has been what I've argued for all along.

Sadly the canon kicked my butt on this one. The fact is "Home One" is officially the name of that MC Cruiser. (ridiculous though that is) Its stated clearly that Home One is in fact the name of that vessel, not a call sign on a number of occasions.

Skyler, there is a canon issue with your theory; in Dark Empire, the MC90 class is described as being the first Mon Cal ship built as a warship, as opposed to being converted from something else. Since the Home One / MC85 predated the MC90, it would therefore have originally been something other than a warship. If the ship only began construction after the Mon Cal rebellion, it seems highly unlikely that any ships designed and built after that point would be designed as anything other than warships.

I have previously stated that I have no strong feelings either way on the name of the Home One. However, I prefer to adhere to canon as much as possible when building public stats. As aegisflashfire has stated, the canon has identified the Alliance flagship as the Home One, for better or for worse. For the purposes of any stats I write up, the class will be identified as the MC85, and the name of Home One will be Home One. If you disagree, but still wish to use the stats I post, feel free to change the name as you see fit.

As far as the MC80b, I'm considering giving it a similar armament to the MC80a, with the addition of 10 of the heavy turbolaser batteries I put on the MC85 class, along with a tougher hull, 4 starfighter squadrons and a larger troop complement, as well as more powerful sensors. I'm on the road at the moment, so I can't give the stat the treatment I would prefer, but I will post when I get home.

Except that all of that is purely EU "canon". We're all still waiting to hear what the Story Group declares as canon from this point forward. So in the meantime, people are pretty much free to do what they want; some of that stuff will be confirmed, others will be changed.

Question concerning the MC85: is this the same class as the Raddus, the flagship of the Resistance in The Last Jedi? As I recall, the Raddus is classified an MC85 as well in the TLJ cross-sections book. I just want confirmation that your stats here can be used for the Raddus.

Correct.

It is, however, also possible that later versions of the MC85 received a weapons refit as part of the refit that reduced crew levels.

Indeed, the TLJ Cross-sections book mentions very prominently how the Raddus itself was refitted by the Resistance to function with a smaller crew, so this makes perfect sense.

For me, it's kind of a moot point, since I'm not really interested in gaming in the TFA era. Pretty much all my stats are geared toward gaming in the Rebels / Classic era or the early New Republic era. I plucked a few of the older vehicles from TFA, but nothing from TLJ has really caught my interest yet.
