Gog.com has recently released versions of the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games for PC that are now compatible with modern operating systems. Granted, the original X-Wing is old enough to buy a case of beer, but I've been dabbling with a few missions, and it's surprised me how well the game has held up. What it lacks in modern graphics, it makes up for in game play that is still wildly fun. The updated graphics in the 1998 release are a welcome addition. (The $10 comes with both the 1993 version, 1998 version, as well as official hint guide)

I thought this would be of interest because even after all of these years, when we're discussing our campaigns and possible house rules, we frequently see the phrase "In the old X-Wing game..." The games have served as reference points for us when envisioning this imaginary world, and for good reason. It still captures the feel of Star Wars from the seat of a starfighter.

Very cool find. I'll definitely be checking this out.

Was very pleased to see that myself... haven't purchased yet, though.
Now to wait for X-Wing vs TIE Fighter Wink
