This force power deveoped by members of the white current, allows them to make the 'air' so thick around targets, it is harder for them to hit enemies/damage them. Their thought was if it was harder to do anything, they would be less likely to continue it and therefore could stop fights before they got out of hand.
When 'engaged' the WCM picks how big a zone is being made. All those in it, get a perception check (or control roll) to resist. If they fail to beat the diff as set by the Alter roll by the WCM, they are affected.
If affected, all melee/brawl attacks along with ranged combat that is physically moved (bow fire, grenades, thrown weapons) suffer a -1d to hit and damage (even if this takes damage below base str) for every 2d of the users alter score. It also reduces the dex of said targets by 1d for every 3d of the user so if they go to 0d they are effectively locked in place.
Explosions (via demo, grenades already used, missiles), blasters, firearms and the like unfortunately do not get affected (other than to hit rolls). And as such if a target being slowed by the White current force user takes damage from any such sources that places them at mortally wounded or dead, they instantly take a Dark side point.

This is a C/S/A power.
Control.
5'sphere - Easy + proximity
10' sphere - Moderate + prox
15' sphere - Diff + prox
20' sphere - V.Diff + prox
25' sphere - Heroic + prox
each additional 5' the sphere is enlarged from here on, add 10 to the target number.

Sense
Difficult + proximity

Alter
As control based on sphere size.
5' = 15+ prox
10' = 20 + prox
15' = 25 + prox
20' = 30+ prox
25' = 35+ Prox.
+10 per additional 5' of sphere.

At no time is the force user who activated the power affected by it.

So what do you all think?
What should be a good name (other than molasis)..

Well, for starters, Molasis is a great name considering some of the other weird names the boys at Lucasfilm have come up with for other powers. Maybe just change up a few letters, like Malausys, so that the inside joke remains, but is a little bit more obscure.

I'm actually surprised it doesn't make it harder for the target to breath... perhaps needing stamina rollse every few rounds of high activity (like combat).

I was thinking that if i DID include that, then there would also have to be rules for damage and dark side points cause of it.

It almost sounds like a Slow spell from D&D, except that it affects everything within the field, not just characters.

Could open up the path for a lot of D&D spells or psi-powers to be used as the basis for Force Powers.

Within reason, of course. The first time I read the D&D book, my reaction was "Prismatic whaaa...?"

My first book didn't have that one. That was from those darn new fangled advanced rules. Wink

Would you prefer Qui Gon Jinn's Cantrip of Spirit Trapping or Yoda's Ultimate Shield of Force Deflection? Rolling Eyes

Seriously, anything can be an inspiration, but great care need be taken. The tone, style, and effect of most Force powers is very different from that of D&D Spells. One of the problems I see with the video game inspired force skills is that they seem more like D&D fireballs than anything from the movies.

No direct conversions, please. I'd be more interested in using the D&D spells as guidelines for Force powers. Obviously, some are just too powerful. I have no interest in seeing Wish / Miracle / Reality Revision show up as Force powers. Other spells seem like multiple facets or power grades of the same ability, where a Force power would combine them all into one and make the greater power effects dependent on higher difficulty levels, not learning new spells at higher levels.
