Here's the thing. I have a player who has pretty much rebuilt a baudo class star yacht to work as a frieghter. Problem is, the floor plan in the starships stats pdf (uncencored), page 60, isn't really detailed enough. For instance, there's no escape pod, no access to any engineering systems, and no space for the 35 tons of cargo it originally carried. Is there anyone out there with the knowledge and inclination to do something a bit more exact?

Just looking at the ship's pics though, i see no spot for an escape pod and the engineering section looks almost all outside of the hull.. so i can easily see why there is no access for it. Though perhaps behind the 2 rear crew quarters, or the pool/lounge there is a door for accessing what is inside the hull.

Isn't it imperial law for all ships to have enough escape pods to service the crew and passengers.

Dont count on those making those floorplans (free for all) to follow imperial law.. Perhaps the cockpit detaches as an escape pod, much like the lambda shuttle.

Why would there be a medical bay? Heck even most combat transports and the like don't have one.

I think a yacht would be similar to an RV. Essentials of life with a few ammenities- but nothing too elaborate.

If you really need an escape pod there, you could say a deck panel opens up into one that is always pointed downwards relative to the floor. I would place it in middle the corridor linking the pool to the lounge.

Just read GG6 where the Baudo comes from. In that book the Baudo presented (a modified yacht with the name The Gilded Lily) has 70 metrics of cargo space after being converted to a freighter. Probably someone thought that half that should be logical as the original cargo size. If you follow GG6 35 metrics is the same as 15 cubic meters(As a 'standard'). If you consider a 1 m high cargo space under the main deck that space only need to be like 5 by 3 meters. Given the rather sleek design of the Baudo even a 1m high cargo space might be stretching it though..

Edit: And dont even talk about a vertical escape pod.. Wink
I see the Baudo as a kind of Grand Tourer os the space lanes. Why it would have space for 35 tons of cargo is beyond me.

Just a heads up, the Baudo deckplans have been upgraded since it was linked upthread. It looks different and more detailed now.

And a whole lot bigger.

It's the same link as Rerun's. Only that the page was upgraded a scant few days after it was posted in this thread.
