With the plethora of fan based material out there it can be a little overwhelming. It is great and wonderful but also confusing. Of course you can pick and choose what you want but look at the difference I have found.

These are Battle Droids from three different sources
V1

DEX 1D
Blaster 3D and V Blaster 3D
KNO 1D
MEC 1D
Repulsor Oprs 4D
PER 2D
Search 4D
STR 1D
TEC 1D

V2

DEX 3D
Blaster 7D Dodge 5D
KNO 1D
MEC 2D
Repulsor Ops 5D Vehicle Blaster 6D
PER 2D
Search 8D
STR 2D
TEC 1D

V3
DEX 1D
Blaster 3D
KNO 1D
MEC 1D
PER 1D
STR 2D
Brawling 3D
TEC 1D

They all have +1D armor.

But you see that #1 and #3 have subtle difference but #2 is huge.

So please vote which one you feel most represents the basic Battle Droid trooper you see in the Prequel Movies.

I have another question that V2 brings up that will be in another post.

i think V3 covers most of them, and commanders etc have extra software packages for various skills (search, repulsor op, etc)

True, their stats are not anything scary, but remember, the strength of battle droids is in their numbers, especially the basic battle droids. It doesn't matter too much what their blaster skill is if you have dozens or more firing at you. They are bound to hit their target.

One thing that would make the destroyer droids more powerful would be a faster fire rate on their blasters. They fire at least twice as fast as a blaster rifle or pistol, in my opinion.

If you have read any of the clone wars novels, it is also the battle droid philosophy. I just finished reading the novel based on the Clone Wars animated movie, and Captain Rex several times makes reference to the battle droids only advantage is their numbers.[/quote]

First Thanks Gry for the specs again. I have not compared them to what I downloaded from this site a couple months ago but probably the same.

What I was driving at was look at the huge difference, and just a reality check. I played and ran some time ago and it has changed so was not sure of the direction of the game.

Since it is no longer in production my new players are trying to get a feel on what to expect and their power level and search the WWW. They see these 3 choices, 2 close so they are good with it and then the power gamer version and low and behold they are not sure if they are studs or noobs of the largest kind.

Yes I believe in the quantity and mass fire idea for spud Droids. With wild die you can get lucky. Also after a round or two I have a couple of the command types try and combine fire, so I can get all the help they can get.

AWAD- Now throw in some HK droids into the mass of Droids and it gets fun
