The problem isn't with the bullet proof monkey...it's with the humans who think they are also bullet proof monkeys.

Or had the wire coated with toxin to make him/her helpless. Or using stun wire.

Potentially, although I'd still allow a dodge with a penalty... the good old fall over on purpose.

If he is already down (which most netting/entraping attacks cause), he cannot do that.

That should do it, although combined action stun blasters should also work if you bring enough troops.

Yup. 3 additional people = one bonus die by the R&E rules. Having a full squad (12 men inc officer and heavy gunner) gives 4d bonus to the damage.

Hear hear!

Well put. The wookie can stand out in the middle of the gun fight, but the rest of the characters should really duck behind something.

Resisting toxins and stun is still a strength roll. I'd be less inclined to use contact toxins against wookiees as I'd consider their dense fur to be somewhat of a defence. Not a reliable defence but perhaps a +1 on the resist roll. Even without the +1 high strength still helps here. Actually clothing would probably make a resonable defence here too.

Again I wouldn't consider a net or a bola to be an instant fall. A called shot to the legs with a bola while the target was running would (if successful) mean they'd need to make a dex check to stay upright. For a net, those are usually weighted so I'd be inclined to make it a strength check to stay upright.

Most entanglement weapons i have seen say if target is hit, they go down unless they make a dex check. not str...

Quoted for truth.

Everything's luck runs out, in due time, so will the Wookies'.

I found that out the hard way. Had a Wook character with 6D STR almost get killed by a grenade at long range (2D damage). I rolled a one on the wild die and the GM rolled several sixes. Next thing I knew, I was mortally wounded, hoping that the rest of the group would get to me in time.

After that I stopped feeling invincible and started using cover, carrying a medpac, plus one of each type of grenade I could get my paws on. I'd have bought a blast vest if I could have found one in my size.

I can see it now...
Wookie: "Rrrhhhoooowwwrrrrr"
Human Character: "he says do you have blast vests in XXXXXXXL?"

I actually see wookies more needing LONG vests not large ones... now a gamorean, trandoshan, or barbell....

I would also point out that those who play wookies probably enjoy being the i meatbag in combat and wouldn't find it hilarious being knocked out of action all the time. Even a wookie is going to have a few bad rolls now and then.

Or the gm's of 'those wookies' are a little lax.

Strange, with us wookies and other powerful speices tend to get a tougher time of it. The bad guys tend to shoot more at the berserk wookiee than the kid with the slingshot.

On the flip side the tougher species are more resistant to 'casual damage' For instance if the party is traveling on a ship that takes damage the entire crew/passenger list can end up taking damage and the tougher species will generally not need to worry and the weaker, less threatening species may well need to spend character points.
