The Gungans are a proud warrior race that for some reason spared Jar-Jar (a very retarded Gungan) the death penalty... it is actually a very bizzarre plot-hole that a culture like the Gungans would allow Jar-Jar to go as far as he did with anything...
...and Boomer also is a cool Star Wars term for heavy explosives, that rocks...

Anyway, one thing about the "Purest of Intentions" would be the "Except when using this power against a Sith" line in all the dark jedi powers, and any case in which you are helping others through healing, protection, et cetera.

Oh yeah.... there is no specific power that says that.

But it was in a book somewhere. I think Chabit has it... basically, using powers like Injure/Kill, against a Sith or anyone consumed by the Dark Side does not incure a Dark Side Point.

KInd of an iffy rule. You can always try and redeem someone which makes the final solution of death still not seem noble enough for a Jedi. But there are also situations where the death of one saves the lives of hundreds, which is always preferable.

I won't dispute if it is or isn't in a book; but it shouldn't work that way.

Jedi shouldn't use "evil" methods to bring about a good ending. The reason most of those powers grant a dark side point is because of one of two reasons: either the power using anger, hate, ect to draw strength and be used or the power does something bad enough that the user gets the DSP for what they did. A power like rage is the first.

Hi, some clarifications are needed Smile

a) Can a character spend a some (4) of the starting 7D to increase Control and Sense to 3D each?

If the answer is yes, then assuming he has a skill in Lightsaber of 4D+2:

b) Since he has 1 DSP to begin with, let's say he enters combat and uses Lightsaber Combat. It works better when he's afraid and does not let his fear go. He therefore goes the easy way, using the Dark Side, and his difficulties remain the same. Three shots are aimed at him. He rolls for his Control first, using 3D(Control) -2D(MAP) +1D(DSP) = 2D. He gets lucky and makes the moderate. Then he rolls Sense, Using 3D -2D +1D = 2D and makes it easily. He has declared lightsaber parry. He parries at 4D+2 + 3D -2D = 5D+2. He rolls an 18.

Are the above correct?

If yes, then does the GM add 18 to the difficulties to hit, or do all to hit rolls over 18 hit?

Next round, he lightsaber parries and attacks. He keeps the LS combat "up". He rolls for the defensive action using 4D+2 -3(MAP) +3(Sense) =4D+2.
He rolls for the attack using 4D+2 -3(MAP) +3(Sense) = 4D+2. If he succeeds, he rolls for 5D+3D =8D Damage.

Let's say he succeeds. He gets a 34 for damage. The defender rolls 14 for strength. He is killed outright.

Under what circumstanses would I smell a DS point for using the Dark Side?

All moot. A *starting* Force-user cannot put any of his skill 7d into the Force, *only the requisite number of attribute d.* The rest of it would be true, but for the fact that he's not *starting* with 3d control and sense.
