Weren't there some sort of 'Spectacular Success' rules in R&E? Getting a hit roll way above the required difficulty added some sort of bonus to damage? Or is that a neat house rule I saw somewhere? _________________ Aha! |

Personnaly I use a different damage table for hand to hand combat. It is based on the fact that punching damage is mainly stun damage instead of wounds.
0-3 delay: character hit loose 1D for next initiative roll.
4-8 add 1 stun token. -1D untill end of next round.
9-11 add 2 stun token. -2D untill end of next round.
12-15 add 3 stun token. -3D untill end of next round OR wounded (depend of attacking character style of fight).
16+ add 3 stun token. -3D untill end of next round and wounded.
stun tokens are stun damage. When number of tokens are egal or superior to strengh dice, character fall unconscious for 2D rounds. _________________ Phalanks

Well, from a tactical point of view it could better to wound ennemy soldiers during a war than to kill them (so that the ennemy will have to take care of them) |

Or wound them so you can take prisoners to use as bargaining tools. _________________ "Your lack of faith disturbs me." - Vader |

my 2 cents is the following:
you will do your strength damage, because we all know a wookie can kill you in one hit prety easy. if you devide in half, then you have him only killing you on a chance. so doing damage via strength, was about hitting a vital part, to make him really hurt (kidney, throat, etc shot). so you need to be alot stronger to do a decent amount of damage, but anyone can use a blaster to kill someone. _________________ The Vong have Arrived
