As for weapons that deflect lightsabers, I think it's pretty reasonable that anything rayshielded deflects them. Or at least protects against them, since that's what trapped the Jedi in EP 3.
Logically, you could say anyone who goes hunting Jedi could use personal shields like in the JK computer games or the Prince fellow from Courtship. It shouldn't be that hard to make a ray shield...shield ( Sword and buckler style) out of a rayshield if the gungans of all people could do it. |

Yeah, the Gungans had such a device. But if memory serves, the shield itself operated inside a frame. If the framework isn't made of something like cortosis fiber or the like, one strike from a lightsaber to that frame might shut the whole shield down. I'd have to see stats on their construction to be sure, but that's a possibility... |

True enough, but such a thing would still be pretty effective as a shield. It should be possible to create a shield that projected from a handle because if a gungan can do it, anyone else could probably do it better. |

There are such energy shields. But, they work like any other shield, limited capacity. Strike it enough times it will weaken, the saber will begin damaging the one holding the shield, and ultimately the shield will fail. _________________ My backpack has jets!

Too true. Though while he is trying to battle down your shield, your friends can mop him up...

Alternatly, have 3 or so people all with these shields, try to box his butt in... by forcing the saber back into him (much like a shield trap in ad&d) _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

That's when the Force user needs to bust out with a good, old-fashioned Force Push and give himself some room to move. |

Or even a Jedi leap to summersault behind them and hit their unshielded arc.
It does stand to reason that any weapon or device that is ray shielded has a chance of parrying a lightsaber, depending on how strong the ray shielding is. Also, I allow force weapons (which use a combination of shield and repulser/tractor technologies) to parry lightsabers. Force weapons are rare though. Other rare, and specialized items (sith swords, electrostaffs, etc...) can also parry lightsabers. Such items are not common though, so it is best to try to use other methods to disarm or eliminate a jedi. Anti-laser aerosols might reduce the effectiveness of the lightsaber (I am sure the blade is far too focused to be completely diffused, but it may net a -1D or -2D in damage depending on concentration). Combine this with sonic grenades to keep the jedi off-balance and distracted, clever or creative use of hologram doubles, and ranged attacks. Yes, I could write a book about hunting Jedi... _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |

What power/skill would you say that 'jedi leap' would fall under? TK? Enhance attribute for strength, then jump?? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
