Hi all. As an emergency NPC for my game recently, I used Taggor Bren, a character whose design I really liked since I saw the artwork in issue #1 of Star Wars Galaxy magazine many, many years ago, along with a bio and stats for the RPG.

As his role in my game expanded beyond what I initially expected, I need the stats for him, but currently can't find my copy of the magazine. I'll carry on looking, but if anyone has them handy and can save me from turning my flat inside out looking for them, I'd be a very happy man!

I found the magazine. I'm hesitant to post the stats here, though, because it would be a copyright infringement in my opinion. I suggest that you either come up with your own stats, or perhaps go look for the magazine.

I can say, though, that he's maxed on STR, he's high in DEX, PER, and MEC, that TEC is his lowest stat, and that he's surprisingly skilled in Blaster, Melee Combat, Beast Riding, and Brawling. The writeup doesn't give any Story Factors, but does give him an "armed to the teeth" type of equipment list.

Thanks, Zarn. Totally understand your concerns regarding copyright. Do you feel comfortable giving me an idea of the Dice for Melee Combat and Brawl?

I took every Star Wars book, magazine and comic off of my shelves last night, and couldn't find it. I'm going to check all the non-Star Wars shelves next, but I have a strong feeling the magazine may have gone missing during my last move 6 years back, as I don't recall seeing it since then.

His highest skill is 5D+2. Other than that, he's got skills mostly in the area of 4D - 5D.

Okay about the copyright thing, your opinion is your opinion, only do what you feel is safe, etc. But as long as you are only posting the stats, you should be okay. Also you could just PM the stats if you don't want to post them publicly. Again, just IMHO.

It is fairly easy to find the magazine in digital form. I managed to do so. And the stats are there.

Thank you. Unfortunately I can't find my copy or a digital version of it, so will make up the rest.

I found copies for sale, and one that said it had a digital copy, but just filled my browser with pop-ups!

This is from the site admin, the one who pays the bill for the Rancor Pit to be here. Please cease and desist all discussion about digital bootlegs. This has been the policy for many years here.

I feel you are quite safe just posting a stat block for a character. But whether you do or not, please stop talking about finding a digital copy. Thank you.

Which is why I never asked for one, and understood why Zarn was reluctant to write out the stats.

I'm basing my writeup on the Wookieepedia entry at http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Taggor_Bren , and what we can see on the image.

From the entry in Wookieepedia, we know that he was human, was kidnapped by Sand People and presumably raised by them, and that he doesn't seem to owe them any particular fealty or have any other status than as a tribesman.

We also see that he can be somewhat mercenary - he readily traded food and supplies for someone he found in the desert. He isn't completely heartless, however, as he did go with the gangsters of Jabba to be sure of what would happen to her.

From the image, we can see that he has all-black eyes - which may or may not be a cybernetic modification, but certainly isn't found in human baseline. He also seems to be clad in what appears to be non-armored desertwear, carries a rifle of some sort (with a very thin barrel - it may be a cycler rifle patterned after a Tusken Cycler rifle), one pistol-size weapon (which may or may not be a slugthrower - its handle is somewhat reminiscent of a Coynite disruptor pistol), and has a utility knife easily accessible in his webbing. He also carries a big honkin' knife-and-knuckleduster combo that seems to have more in common with a short sword than any knife I've ever seen. It may be similar to something like a D'skar.

He also carries something around his neck, which is possibly a breathing device or filter of some kind. There's some wiring connected with components vaguely strewn across his upper body, though it doesn't seem to be connected to any cybernetic implants - and tellingly, it doesn't cross over his hands or arms. I'll be assuming that it is something like a sensor pack, perhaps similar to the NeuroSaav 8932/D Sensor Pack.

Judging from the patch, he doesn't seem overly fond of the Empire. He's likely an unlicensed bounty hunter.

In general, I'd say he's a pretty intimidating fellow.

Thank you, Zarn. More than generous of you. He's about what I remembered. Capable, but beatable. Thank you again.
