Capsule: The Z-95AF5b, or Assault Fighter 5/bis designed by Seti Ashgod, using inspiration from some of the many field modifications of the Z-95, corrected many of the minor design flaws within the original Mark IV and Mk IVAF4. The AF5b was completely refitted with four new Incom 3/K/3 fission engines and armed with four Taim & Bak KX4 laser cannons and a pair of Krupx MG5 concussion missile launchers. The Z-95AF5b was the best space superiority Headhunter ever created. Shielding was strong, and the controls almost identically matched that of an X-wing. Some Later examples would even include Droid Sockets, a feature continued on the X-Wing. The engines and laser cannons were also very similar to that of an X-wing- the X-wing would only use slightly improved models of each. Designers opted to return to the classic bubble canopy for the AF5b rather than using the starfighter canopy which had been standard on most Z-95s for many years. This once again gave the pilot an unobstructed field of vision. This was the final headhunter built by Subpro and Incom after their 125 year partnership ended in 22 BBY.It was built in the smallest numbers, but fairly common and flown by the likes of a Young Wedge Antilles and other prominent pilots. By the galactic war in 2 BBY the headhunter series would be considered outdated but still in use. The Arc170 would follow and was built by Incom but was designed by both.

Was it meant to have the photo of an X-Wing? I'm a little confused by it.

look to the rear section of it, its a z-95, most had no astromech, its a early concept for the x-wing. This Pic was in the rogue squadron comics i KNOW for sure.. look over the pic close it has feature found in the x wing and z-95 which it was developed from.

The problem is that I have no recollection of a Z-95 ever having S-Foils.

its in the rogue squadron commics the flash back where wedge's family was killed and he attacks the pirates who did it as a kid in a z-95... note.... this was well before the x-wing was developed or deployed.. so it must be some kind of late model z-95 concidering one is z-95 fuselage, but, two also it's x-wing style s-foils.
...looking at my ominibus of em now in fact.... its there.

Interesting! The Z-95s in the game media(X-Wing, TIE Fighter) lack them.

There were 4marks of z-95 'fore the production stopped..... 5 counting that one though is a sub variant.......... my gues concidering arc-170s had x-wing s-foil like devices....... is this was a very late production model..... concidering the T-65 (X-wing) WAS developed directly from the z-95...... that its this model head hunter its based on..... this is conjecture but... logical conjecture....... so i'd say very last clone wars production model.

I can accept that argument.
