The sinking of the Prince of Wales and the Repulse provides some interesting perspective. It was the first sinking of capital ships that were alert and underway by aircraft. The primary weapon used against the ships by the Japanese were land-based medium bombers dropping either standard dumb bombs or air-dropped anti-ship torpedoes
Thanks!

Also, depending on what rules you use for shields and ion weaponry, you could equip the ship with Ion Pulse Warheads or Shield Buster Torpedoes.

Oh, I thought you had some sort of power draw system in place.
Power draw is most of what constitutes the cost of emplacement points. There's also a little set aside for life support and quartering of gunnery crews.

There's some irony here. I based my weapon design system off of data from the D20 Star Wars book, in which weapons had an "emplacement point" rating. So you've gone full circle on me. Laughing

My own power system is much simpler. I rate the power requirements in terms of dice. Each die is twice the power rating of the previous die. TO determine the power draw of a system you can usually just take the highest stat in D. For a ship, take the highest die code and typically add 2D just to be safe.

A typical 4D damage laser cannon would draw 4D power, closer to 4D+1 with fire control factored in. An X-Wing would need about 6D+1 to power it's four laser cannon. It would have a total power requirement of about 8D.

I got a scale somewhere that translates dice into watts. .
