IC - Episode IV There in the Dark

The KAWD glances at Giric and then moves to check for another dwelling that is not displaying so obviously anti-alien markings

OOC: I'm assuming we're walking with the vehicle at the moment not just abandoning it.

Roth picks up the blaster and takes stock of the situation, taking a round to get a bead on the closest target he can find.

KAWD

Every building the KAWD checks out that appears abandoned appears to have anti-alien graffiti scrawled on it. Looking around at the few beings it sees the majority are non-humans, none of whom seem to pay much attention to the graffiti. The KAWD doesn't remember seeing any non-humans when the team first arrived on Taris save for the members of the team. But where they are now there seems to be quite a few non-humans. Most of the humans it's seen don't seem like they'd fit in in the part of Taris they first saw. Though they certainly don't look as down and out as the Outcasts of the Undercity.

The KAWD realizes it's seen a few humans that seem out of place here, like Tobias their too well dressed for this part of Taris to be locals. The droid remembers seeing what appeared some kind of transaction going on when it and Giric first arrived here. A Sullustan dressed in flashy clothes and their customers looked like they were either wealthy humans from the Upper City or they were folks who looked to have some kind of dependency problem.

"Do you begin to get the feeling someone on this planet really hates non-humans?" Giric asks looking at what was probably once warehouse but now looks little more than a dilapitated trash dump. What's left of the door sports graffit just like what is on other buildings.

Tarisians rise, the time of the purge is at hand!

Anti-Alien League

Tobias

Looking about Tobias sees both airspeeders he had intended to attack are now moving towards him and the incapacitated Deavon. Looking back towards the landing pad he barely sees the silhouettes of the Trandos back there. They seem to be looking up. Following them Tobias sees a pair of airspeeders dropping out of the sky.

Tobias has just enough time to see the Trandos fire on the approaching airspeeders.

Quin-Tain and Roth

Quin-Tain starts diving back down towards the the landing pad. Just as he does so Ali and the constable pass them, traveling much faster. They start rapidly decelerating as they get within four hundred meters of the the landing pad. Almost at the same time Bastilda starts what sideslipping she dares, angling the airspeeder towards the Red Claw base, to avoid incoming fire from the Trandos. Both Roth and Quin-Tain can see she didn't totally succeed as one shot flies past the dropping airspeeder, disipating harmlessly in front of Roth and Quin-Tain, while the second makes contact. Blue lightning plays out across the airspeeder as it continues to drop and slide towards the Red Claw base.

Ali

"Hang on droid!" the constable shouts as they pass Quin-Tain and Roth's airspeeder.

They drop down a bit further then the constable begins rapid deceleration. Ali feels as if her central processor is seeking to leave her as they drop at least another couple hundred meters, the airspeeder slowing down from such a high speed dive.

"KARK!" Bastilda cries out as she starts slipping the airspeeder towards the hangar they left not terribly long ago. "We're in their line of fire!"

As if to punctuate her declaration a pulse blast bolt whips past where they just were as a second one slams into the airspeeder. Blue lightning begins to dance over the airspeeder and Ali wonders if the lightning is dangerous to droids.

"Controls aren't responding, we may have to abandon it!, think you can jump onto the roof if we get close enough?"

(OOC: Ali and Bastilda's airspeeder lightly damaged, controls locked for 2 rounds. -1D to manuverability from damage. Neither takes damage

Daevon unconcious for 37 minutes 55 seconds.

Roth and Quin-Tain will be in long range of the Trandos in the next round, two rounds before the Trandos are in long range of Roth. Unless Quin-Tain risks speeding up to put Roth in firing in the next round.)

The KAWD walks the vehicle into the warehouse resoning that it has the space needed and potential supplies that can be salvaged.

"It seems there are prejudices being expressed freely. Can being Giric re-enable this unit's commlink in this location?"

Making a quick decision, Tobias hurries over to Daevon to see if he will be able to move him to any kind of cover without making his injuries worse.

[Ankhanu]

Quin-Tain keeps the speeder going as fast as he thinks he can maintain control.

(OOC - I want to go at least cruising speed, double if I have at least 2D to work with... flying in a straight line afterall I'll slow when we get close enough that maneuvres are needed)

Tobias

Tobias realizes he does know about Deavon's species to begin making a proper examination of his wounds. But he does know enough of first aid to determine his wounds are very severe. He can't tell if moving him will cause his injuries to worsen or not. However he notes smoke rising from the airspeeder's engine. He doesn't know enough about mechanical things to tell if that's just from the engine shutting down with the crash or what it is. But the amount of smoke coming from the engine doesn't seem to be a good sign.

KAWD

"Probably," Giric says as he looks around the building. "How much good that will do is still in question. As is the condition of our swoop."

Giric starts examining the swoop and side car. Finally he straightens up and groans.

"I'm no vehicle mechanic but it's pretty clear the swoop's been damaged. The side car's pretty badly beat up, doesn't look like it can take much more damage before it starts falling apart. The swoop itself looks to be in better condition though I'm thinking the maneuvering mechnism suffered the worst of the damage it took. Can't tell for certain but based on the trouble you seemed to have turning onto that off ramp I'd say it's suffering some kind of lag in the system so it won't manuever as well as it could before taking damage. Don't know if I'll be able to do much to repair it."

"Repair what?" a voice croaks in the darkness.

Ali

Ali and the constable's airspeeder get's closer to the roof of the Red Claw base. It quickly becomes apparent the airspeeder is going to crash somewhere and the Trandos seem to understand that as they switch their aim towards Roth and Quin-Tain having assumed Ali and Bastilda aren't going to make it.

"Now or never droid!" Bastilda shouts as she stands up in the pilot's seat. "Time to abandon ship!"

With that the constable jumps as the air speeder slips over the roof.

Quin-Tain and Roth

Roth and Quin-Tain continue to drop, Quin-Tain angling their airspeeder towards Deavon and Tobias. Roth has time to see Bastilda and Ali's airspeeder begin crossing over the edge of the roof to the Red Claw base and the Constable leap onto the roof. Both hear the Trandos open fire on them but their aim is thrown off by the speed of their airspeeder as Quin-Tain angles them over the bridge. Both Roth and Quin-Tain can see thick, black smoke starting to rise from the crashed airspeeder of Tobias and Daevon and Tobias moving to the airspeeder. And both of them can see the two Red Claw air speeders angling back towards Tobias and Daevon.

Reylan

"Well?" Arek asks, clearly waiting for Reylan to get the truck moving. "Where we going?"

(OOC: Bastilda uninjured making her leap to the roof. Daevon unconcious for 37 minutes 50 seconds.

Roth and Quin-Tain fell into long range fire of the Trandos but because of Ankhanu's post on Jan 3, 2013 at 1:24 PM Roth and Quin-Tain moved forward enough to through off their aim. Trandos will be in Roth's long range in the next round and then out of his range.

Tobias and Daevon's airspeeder powerplant will explode in two rounds.)

Roth takes the time to properly line up a shot on one of the Trandos; he knows he'll only have a brief moment before they're out of range again.

THe KAWD turns to investigate the voice coming from the darkness using it's multiple vision modes to attempt to identify the source quickly.

Quin-Tain opens himself to the Force, allowing it to course through his body and help guide his hands, the need for haste increasing. Guided by the Force he increases speed to catch up with the others.

Reylan takes a moment as he stops at a light before the highway to use the Force to help guide his actions. "To find Giric and the KAWD". He closes his eyes for a moment and reaches out into Giric's mind

Ali is breathing down Bastilda's neck as she too makes a flying leap for the relative safety of the rooftop.

If Ali makes it on top of the roof, she'll try to crouch down into a roll to take off some of the momentum. (being careful not to roll off the other side of the roof)

If Ali is low, she will try to grab the edge of the roof, and then pull herself up onto the roof.

(on the off chance she doesn't make it, and if falling is likely to result in death, then Ali will use character points to secure one of the two above options)

Roth

Roth takes a shot, aiming at the taller of the two Trandos just as Quin-Tain increases the speed of the airspeeder. Just a split second later the Trandos try firing on him and Quin-Tain only to have their shots disipate harmlessly in empty air as the airspeeder races forward. One of the Trandos clearly has time enough to swear at missing the two Jedi, but the other Trando doesn't have time to do anything as Roth's shot hit's home a moment after the Trandos fire. Even as they race foward Roth sees the Trando collapse onto the landing pad.

BOOM

Roth sees smoke and flame rising from the roof of the Red Claw base.

Quin-Tain

Quin-Tain pushes the throttle forward towards the three-quarter full position and the airspeeder responds, if a bit sluggishly. The two Jedi begin rocketing forward, heading towards their downed brethern. He can see Tobias struggling to pull Daevon out of the wreckage of their airspeeder.

Unfortunately he can also see the two Red Claw airspeeders that had tried pursuing Reylan, Arek, the KAWD, and Giric before they reached the tunnel are heading back towards the two downed Jedi as well, which means their also headed towards himself and Roth.

BOOM

Ali

Ali jumps to the roof just seconds after Bastilda, landing about twenty meters further down the roof than the constable did. Their damaged air speeder travels nearly a hundred meters further before it's angle of descent cause it to impact the roof.

BOOM

Ali watches as the airspeeder explodes on impact, knocking her off her feet. She looks back to see that Bastilda could keep her feet either as the vibrations from the explosion shake the roof.


KAWD

Searching the darkness the KAWD notes a haphazard pile of pillows and blankets set up near a few old crates, almost like someone built a nest to sleep in. It sees a being get stand up in the middle of the pile and stretch their arms, clearly yawning as if just waking up. What little it's multi vision can let it see seems to show their dressed in well worn clothing, not exactly rags but fairly close to it. The droid notes they have pointed ears. Then they turn away from the droid and grab something it doesn't recgonize.

"Watch it!" Giric shouts.

Before either Giric or the KAWD has a chance to react the being flips a switch on the object. A pale, etheral glow bathes the warehouse, letting anyone unable to see in the dark look at their surroundings. Or those who can see in the dark see colors and details they wouldn't see without a little light.

They see that whoever their facing has blue blue-grey skin and red hair. But their struck by his face, there seems to be some kind of equlateral triangular ridge or scar running from just above one eye up to about the middle of his brow and back down to just above the other eye. The droid notes more scars or ridges running from the corners of the first down to about halfway down the beings' nose, almost meeting on the middle of his nose. The whole thing gives the impression of a kite or diamond shape.

"Repair what?" The being asks again.

Reylan

Reylan tries calling on the Force but feels as if there is too much pressure for him and Arek to get going and not raise suspicion that's preventing him from connecting with the Force.

(OOC: Ali undamaged making her leap to the roof, no CPs used. Ali and Bastilda uninjured being knocked off their feet by the explosion. Daevon unconcious for 37 minutes 45 seconds.

The taller of the two Trandos is incapacitated and unconcious for 39 minutes.

Tobias and Daevon's airspeeder powerplant will explode in the next round.

Roth reports, "Got one of the Trandos; he's out of it for a while, at least." He then examines the scene to see if there's another target.

The KAWD steps aside to let the being see the speeder.

"This unit and being are having issues with this transport. Knowledge of the area and places to obtain tools would be appreciated."

OOC: The KAWD keeps an eye on the being judging the distance it is away from them. (Is it in range of the 4m whip if things go bad?)
OOC2: Knowledges 2D does the KAWD recognize the species?
