New... "art" up. It may be the strangest thing I ever drew. I Photoshopped together some shape studies I was doing on cyborg crustaceans that I may want to use in upcoming adventures, but they came out as a giant crab. Not really what I had in mind, but oh well.

Anyone want to try and kill their PCs with a giant robot crab?

I do like his eyes, though...

Very cool.

I'd like to hear more about the cyber-crustations and the adventure they're involved in.

Not sure why given that there is nothing to give a sense of persepective in the pitcure but for some reason I picture the cyber-crustations as have four times the mass of a regular human.

I conceptualized them at about with 4 times the volume of a person, but I think they're much denser, being made with lots of metal and shell.

It's interesting we're thinking along similar lines, though...

Ah yes, had I thought a little more about my post I might have realized I meant volume and not mass.

Perhaps it's just old monster movies, RPGs and other shared experiences making us agree on the size of 'giant crabs'

Very cool! 8)

I pictured this being walker-scale. With a human being about the size of the claw tips and the head large enough for at least a 2 person cockpit. Say just a bit shorter, but quite a bit broader than an AT-ST.

This is a little more like it.

Inspired by some of the strangest creatures to walk the sea floor.

As for the adventure, I will tell you when I have more to go on than I should make him (my brother) fight crustacean cyborgs! That'd be awesome!

How I came up with them is I was thinking about the possibility of ancient droids with the ability to make very limited hyperspace microjumps for the purpose of local teleportation. Probably in combat. They would overcome the difficulties by whatever vague and unspecified manner planetary-based hypergates did. Then I thought, why wouldn't they remember or know how these hyperspace teleporters worked? Memory wipes came to mind, but I try and come up with unexpected explanations. I remembered back to the old Marathon computer games I played, where you are a cyborg soldier. I decided on cyborgs whose memory hadn't survived the last 10,000 years or so. I didn't want them to be remotely human, so I chose crustaceans.

Turns out it was a good decision. Google image search for crustacean, and you will see some of the least human creatures ever posted on the internet!

I don't know if I'll keep the local teleportation capability that spawned them, or if I'll apply it somewhere else or just forget about it, but I think the cyborgs themselves will get some "airtime".

New sketch up.

This is a warrior from the planet Ashen, or at least it will be once I make the planet Ashen... They wear sheer linen wraps over their faces to protect them for the volcanic ash for which the world was renamed. They can see through the cloth, so they almost never remove it outdoors.

I've had the idea of the linen wrapped warrior in my mind since before I joined these forums, and after ages searching Google images for the appropriate linen wraps and bandages, I finally stumbled across a picture for Ubese Raider Armor. It was perfect inspiration. All I had to do was add the joint plates and redesign the duster. A few other minor changes, and it was all done!

New and in COLOR!
This is the armored flight suit my player's character (Blaine) wears. I decided to try my hand at painting the sketch, and here are the results.

The outer chestplate is borrowed from Sam Flynn in TRON: Legacy. The helmet is a very slightly modified BMW Enduro motorcycle helmet.

Pacific arms .310 Ancalagon revolver with Gauss assist. Based partially on the Smith & Wesson Model 500, partially on the Mateba, and a little on Vash's revolver from Trigun.
